Last night on G4's Cinematech they showed movies from the games that are banned. Most of the games were banned in AU, so I wonder have members from AU notice this before?
For example BMX XXX is banned for strong sexual content and nudity. (How bad that can be for kids :D)

I've heard about this a long while back over at gamespot they posted some games like that, isn't like some of the GTA games banned there also?

TaloN 17-03-2005 04:19 PM

Havell 17-03-2005 05:40 PM

They ban a lot of things, they have some of the strictest censorship laws in the world.

Isn't that what ESRB rating is for? To stop games being banned?

DeathDude 17-03-2005 06:43 PM

Yeah it's there but the problem is it really isn't enforced there aren't any penalties for say selling a Mature rated game to a minor, but that slowly changing.

Yea, there's a lot of places in the US that check IDs now.

In germany a lot of RTS games had to be changed (robots instead of humans) and I think C&C:Generals was banned for a time.
