Never mind, I figured it out.

If you enjoy Outrun and some of the older Sega coin-ops, then you should buy a copy of Shenmue 2 for Xbox or even Dreamcast if you can find it. The arcade in the Golden Quarter contains the coin-op versions of Outrun, Hang on, afterburner2, A semi-3d shooter whose name escapes me for the moment (space harrier or something) and one more which i've completely forgotten. Good stuff

One of the best games ever created! :D

Anyone knows a way of playing the arcade edition? Through an emulator or something.
I d like to have that Sega game where you drove a black car with "sonic" hanging over in the mirror. The son of this one. The reason outrun is a adored game is the arcade version who was fantastic but difficult. The PC version is fun, but pretty easy and the graphics and playability suck compared to arcade. |
I cried when I heard that music :crybaby:

Now I must contradict myself. Re-played (the arcade version, of course) and it's a winner. Just make sure to have an analog controller (a stick is enough), there's just no point in using a toggle one and you won't get far with it and it will be frustrating (my bad). Another one of Sega's pioneering 3D masterpieces. :kosta: Technically it stood at awesomeness. All hail Sega!! :lynch: Haven't tried the PC version though. EDIT: It's HARD though. But I beat all the five endings. http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/outr0000.png |
Since someone dug up this topic: in the pc version it's not that hard to get to all different endings.
Just as a side-remark: I remember that when starting the game in 4 colours (CGA) the car would be a little faster than in 16 colours (VGA), resulting in better times! It was something in the lines of 293 versus 288 km/h top speed. |
