Username changes
 

After some discussion, we have decided to allow users to request changing their usernames. To keep things from getting out of hand, here are three simple rules to follow:

1. Only one change is allowed. (major one; minor things like capitalization / typo removal are "free").
2. All changes must be requested in this topic.
3. A request for name change should contain your current username, the desired username and the reason for your request. Example:
Remember that after the change you will need to use the new name to log in rather than the one you had before!

Reason: I use Pex on every forum I am a member of. Justpex is just a longer version of it, for places that don't allow 3 letter usernames. For some reason, I thought this was such a place when I was filling my registration form

Just a question: When you change people's names do they keep their same UID (User ID) or does it change?

I know. I click on the name, then View Public Profile -> edit. And then I search the user via the vBulletin Admin CP and change it there as well. :oh:

Interesting, I wasn't even aware that my old username tried to kick back in. I never log-off, so I couldn't have gotten into situation of the site rejecting my log in.

I would like to get my old username Romano instead of Romano Krauth.
The first reason is that I would like to hide my family connection to Kosta. (To much personal messages because of that :p)
The second reason is that i would like to get all my statuspoints (PoE) back.
If there is a problem with recounting my statuspoints, I have enough free time to go through archive, and post the result here :D

Reason: Lots! Plus I prefer being called that way. And I can't imagine anyone, let alone someone not Spanish, pronouncing "Japofran" in a non hideous way. Plus Japofran is more revealing.

It seems that more people who've never been to Japan like Japanese stuff than the slight majority of Japanese who like Western stuff.

There is a "one account per person" rule. Although in principle it's conceived the other way around (one person can't have more than one account).

Did you change the password, does your brother have access now, or he simply doesn't log in? Why not creating your own new account called haruka?

Well, you said typos are not allowed... and there was a reason for putting "marko_river" instead of "marko river"... But I guess I could ask you to change it because people here speak to me typing "marko river" without underline.
Even in old abandonia they were signing my reviews with "marko river" (since in old abandonia you had to type the name of reviewer instead of linking it as most of you know)
So, I don't really care, but it somehow seems right to change it.

Actually, "Haruka" can mean something like "the scent of spring" as "Haru" means "spring" or it can mean '"distance" depending on the kanji you use. "Hana" is the Japanese word for flower ^_^

I think Haruka is a lovely nickname, but skillz is kinda cool as well.

Could I get my user name capitalized? I don't know why I didn't when I typed it.

Yes I am. Unfortunately I started translating during the end of the 8th grade so I was immediately caught in the exams which came afterwards thus rendering me unable to translate anymore due to the lack of spare time. I have lots of spare time during the summer holiday so I thought that I could help...

Reason: Registered a few days ago the username Kanalia with a different e-mail address. Sadly, I haven't received the registration e-mail at all (even looked through the muck in my automatically populated "spam" folder, but to no avail). Resetting the password also yielded no confirmation e-mails. I sent two messages through the AB site contact form about my problem (one with the original e-mail address, the other with my gmail one, with which I've registered this second account). Got no reply from AB this way either. Sorry if all of this sounds kinda tangled up, but I tried to use all the respectful communication channels before registering another account :)

As far as I understand, both the site and the forum account usernames will be changed? Because that's what I'm hoping for :)

Reason: I've changed a lot, and I want to start over.

A considerable amount has happened to me since I've registered here. the same person who registered this account isn't really the same person who's talking here to you now. New tastes, improved skills, and I can get money! I want to start anew. I've said things here that I now understand were not particularly smart... It makes me embarrassed now.

Also, "trains" isn't the smartest username one could choose...

I'd love to contribute to the community. I've been told I have superb writing and graphic design skills.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I've thought about it, and given that no one is posting in the forums, it's pointless to offer the possibility to change user name -- which was already extraordinary, since the website doesn't support it directly. So I'll just close this thread. :(

If it were super easy I might take the time to do it, but it was a manual procedure and to be honest I don't remember it, though I know I'd have to deal with the separate buggy accounts on forum and website.
