XQuest

I need help in finding the name of an old game please.

There was a big black empty space, and your mouse cursor was a circle.
You had to move around and pick up goodies while avoiding bullets which came from all directions. The playboard was bigger than screen but you could scroll by moving the cursor to the edges. When you picked up all goodies (diamonds??) the upper border would open a small hole where you'd escape to the next level.
It was DOS but with mouse support.

Help me remember the name of this DOS game

I've been trying to remember a DOS game i played when i was a kid, i'm pretty sure it was a Top Down game in space where you controlled a circular spaceship that had to survive enemies coming from 4 entrances that where at the sides of the screen.

I also remember some enemies dropping bombs (Maybe it was your spaceship that could drop bombs) and i also think that at the end of the level you had to go through the top entrance, if you crashed in the entrance border you failed the mission.

I did this quick mockup of what i remember the game to look like:

Thank You

Hah! I was looking for the same game a while ago:

Although nobody knew the name, it's 100% we mean the same game.

From what I remember, the game's name starts with an "A..."
yup, you always had to leave the level through the top entrance. There was a number of goodies to pick up that increased with becoming more difficult, before the exit would open. I had played this on my 386 a lot.

Could it be a star trek game? I can't merge threads from this phone, wicky, but when i'm back at work, and we've found the name, we can do that. You can always use hotud to browse for similar games until you find it. And squakenet to help you find where the game can be downloaded. And if it's approved, screenshots or a review would be much appreciated!! :3

Wow, That's it! Thank you very much, is funny that the way i remembered it was not completely accurate. Still is awesome that i can play it again just like 10 years ago. Thanks!

Yehaaaaw, I did it :) Found the game (the polished later version plus the more widespread earlier unpolished version) and did a review, screenshots and some background info on year, programmers etc.

Uploaded all to the ftp under \Wicky\XQuest.
