Scifi trading/adventure game

Good day people.
About a year ago I came across a scifi game on what I think was Abandonia which involved trading and ship/crew management. I believe the vessel was called the Dolphin. It caught my eye because it triggered a distant dormant memory of me trying to play it as a child. I didn't understand what was going on but having played little computer games at the time I found the experience magical.
I cannot remember what the game was about or what it looked like, only the aforementioned name of the ship stuck; I become increasingly unsure of even that little fact as time passes. I long to see that ship back, can you please help me get a little of my childhood back?

Too little info, sorry. Do you speak about spaceships, for example? Star Control 2, for example, have multitude of ships and crews. Frontier have crew management... of sorts. Spelljammer have a crew too... but it's rather Fantasy than Sci-Fi... I am sure, there are much more such games around, but just now I cannot remember any (with space trading AND crew, I mean. Star Trek games, for example, all have space travels and crew, but no trades).

It was not a strategy game, more in the region of adventure games. It's presentation was in 2d. I believe the storyline involved you ending up with an old rundown cargoship, trading across the universe in an effort to get home.

Hmm, Dolphin you say?.. Could it have been Whale's Voyage or Whale's Voyage II? You can download the first game here on Abandonia - Link.
