This is an experiment /-
May it fail, May it succeed,
It is worth of trying Nonetheless /-

The Idea /

Monthly writing of small stories, descriptions of situtations of the given subject,
(that would be provided by the last mont´s "winner",) while keeping the total amount of words within the limits of One Hundred Fifty (150), preferably precisely
in the given amount... /-

Why Only One Hundred Fifty (150)?
- To make it easy & non time consuming to read the stories /
- To make it easy & non time consuming to write into the thread /
- And gererally to inspire enough people to participate with the simpliness of it /

How excactly

Month one;
First of February - The New Subject is given /
First - Twentieth day of February - The stories of the given subject (Somehow related to the subject) are written in 150 words, and sent to the thread /
Twentyfirst - The end of the month, Votes (For the best one this time) will be given in the thread by the members who so wish to do /
First day of the following month - Votes are counted, winner named, And he/she will be given five days to give a new subject /
Sixth day of the month - If the previous winner hasn´t gave a new subject, any member, who has participated in the previous month,
will be allowed to create a new subject /
- The cycle continues /-

And Why This Thread??

- To encourage people into writing
- To give the people a change to express themselves
- For the sake of mere creation...

Other -
If the will not be enough participators, The thread will rot and be automatically killed,
For the idea would be lost, If only two or three writers took part every month /

Rules & Side Notes /

- Starting something new is never easy, And so born of Gallantry would be the one who´d dare to begin this...

And Even though the risk of failing is great,
It is something worth of trying /

If there are any who would be willing to take part,
the first subject would be - Sleeping Alone

Wael, I think it's a cool idea!!
I wrote few lines last night :tomato:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I toss and turn. The whole night. Can't put sleep. Her face burns in my mind. I keep on thinking, “what if?”. Can't take her off of my mind. “How would things be now?”. The room is bright, even though it's 3AM. Living on the top of the world, white walls... Not a good idea.
No matter how hard I try, I can't stop thinking.
Why have things turned out like this? Why isn't she lying beside me right now? Everything would be great. We would be asleep, or snuggling together, whispering sweet words in each other's ears. Like we used to. Before.
Then I decide I won't give a damn. She's not worth it. No matter how I felt before, I'm not going to let her keep me awake like that.
I roll over to the other side. I close my eyes. She's not there anymore. She's gone. Forever.
Whoah? :blink:
That's eerie. I wrote a short short on January 14th on that topic. Unfortunately, the short short is 330 words, but I'll write another...
This is such a sad topic for me right now, though......
Then post it in the pinned The Abandonia Writing Society thread. I would like to read it, and I'm sure all others too. ;)
Edit: just noticed after that you posted it in another thread of you. :tomato:
Actually, I can't post that one, it's been submitted to a writing journal, and it can't be published anywhere else if they decide to publish it.
However, since after seeing this last night, I of course couldn't sleep (Thanks, Wael :cry: )... I had to get it out of my head, so here you go.
Death of Love
The forgotten sheets entwine around her limp body as she stares at the popcorn ceiling, wanting to see his face in the random chaos. She tries desperately to find the familiar musky scent on his abandoned pillow, and a tear crawls slowly down her cheek as she realizes that the only smell is that of her own cold sweat. The fan whirs endlessly above her head, only emphasizing the miserable chill created by the abscence of his heat.
A fleeting thought of death floats sickly to the surface of her mind, but it is numbly dismissed by reason. Love, which conquers all, could not bring him back. Death would certainly offer no real solution.
And so she silently waits for sleep to erase her anguished memories, hoping that her dreams would allow her to once more believe that love truly exists, if only in the depths of her own troubled soul.
That's beautifully written...*sigh*
taikara 07-02-2005 03:54 PM
Heh. I was going to hide for a while after posting it because of the dark content. I have this way of making people uncomfortable with words. But it looks like I can count on Black angel to embrace the dark side. That's comforting. :)
Thank you.
Some others should post, this is a very good idea Wael has.
Puffin 07-02-2005 08:54 PM
Wow
Taikara, this is amazing
actually made me cry
but really really well written!!!!
TheVoid 07-02-2005 10:24 PM
Indeed, it's very good written :ok:
I'd like to write something, but I'm in a good mood and this theme kinda saddens me....so I'm passing 'till the next :bye:
