How can I get SimEarth to work?!

So I got SimEarth for DOS, and long story short, it tells me to get a stupid floppy that I don't have.

First obvious question: do you start it in DOSBox?

First, there is no need to shout. To give you any answers we would need information you did not provide, like what OS environment (DOSBox, DOS, Win whatever, etc etc etc), where did you get the game? From AB or elsewhere? Not all copies are the same. We can not read minds and you'd be amazed to see how many different ways people have tried to run DOS games on modern systems. We have to ask unless you tell us.

Think of any piece of information you think would help us help you.

Now did you read the SimEarth topic here on AB? This post in particular

Also read the post just below that one for some corrections.

Ah well,
Attached: simearth archive ready to run in dosbox.
Runs with normal mounting or drag&drop, whatever.

Have fun.
Also: needed codes when starting new planet are in original AB archive.

Now yes, you see, how informative those posts are, they are buried in a long topic, and honestly, viewing the posting style of OP I don't expect him-her-it to even try to read the whole topic to find out how to proceed.

:lame:

Someone could copy that post into the "specific games" troubleshooting subforum, in case someone will be able to find it that way by using the awful forum search...
