Esperanto has to be the easiest language I have ever come accross. I thought I would do my part for world peace by introducing some people to it. :bannana:
A free course that has human tutors Downloadable free course (my fav link) Lenu! - Probably the most popular online course Pronounciation Guide (English - sorry!) On a more general note, a site about international languages. |
I'd have to disagree with Esperanto being the language of the future. I mean, people have been yelling that for 1887 since the thing was designed. It's more useful to learn english, spanish or mandarin chinese (or even hindi, russian or arabic) if you want people to understand you. They may not be as easy to learn as Esperanto, but they'll be worth the effort.

I af
agree with Reup, Esperanto is a dead language... :not_ok: |
And another thing. I don't think world peace will be reached by all people speaking the same language. People who are in war generally do not hold long conversation with each other but tend to more or less shoot first ask questions later... The leaders, the ones who do the talking, usually are able to communicate with the other party...

Esperanto is the language of the past IMHO. We now are in the era of high tech technology, the day of Star Trek when you hear the "universal translator" translating everything from thousand of thousands of language is not that far away now. A couple hundred years at most, and I feel pessimistic.

Esperanto's as bad a joke as throwing up while drawing Mickey Mouse with the puke.

People just all start learning english :bleh:

Didn't expect that kind of response. |
You're coming way too late with Esperanto now. English seems to be the international language, so there's not really a need for one that isn't spoken in any country.
|
I suspect there are more people speaking Hungarian than Esperanto, today. Esperanto was a noble if bizarre ideal--that somehow, if everybody spoke the same language, they'd communicate better. Yet as any divorced couple shows, speaking the same language doesn't mean ironing out a single problem. ;)
