Okay. I need to find a way to record the first track of a CD-R disc as data and then record several music files I have as CD-Audio tracks. The purpose of this action is absolutely top-secret, so I cannot tell you even if I wanted to.

Anyone here got any idea how to do that?

nero: hybrid cdrom

Umm... not sure if it works the same as in Nero Express or not, but... Nero Express produced a CD with the data as its last track, and resulting side effects are unacceptable. I used "Music and Data" option, first set the data to record and then the audio tracks...
Will go see if N BR will work.

hmm can't you change that order ?
i mean it's not that complex... (at least using commandline tools in linux.)

XP here, unfortunately.

As for changing that order... duh, I did what the NE manual tells me to do, and it still ended up as the last track on the set. Looked arounf it to find anything more, but nothing was to be found.

Nero gives you total control over anything, something that Nero Express doesn't do. With Nero you will definitely be able to order the tracks exactly as you want them.

yeah junk nero express, it's a worthless piece of burning application imho.
use nero or easy cd creator or sth like that...

Yes from the nero site you can get a free trial... And um yeah the full version of nero is much better than the Express.
