For the past two days, me and my BOYFRIEND have been trying to set up wireless internet connection at his place. But it didn't work out.

BUT I DID IT!! IT WORKS!!!!! I'm so friggin happy!!!!!!

The first thing he checks was imdb and other movie-sites :tai:

Just wanted to share this with you, even though I do realize that this is kinda useless topic. It's just amazing how much joy goes through my body and soul at this very moment. You can't imagine.

Happyhappyhappy.

PS: He demanded I'd put the word "boyfriend" in capitals and huge letters. He's sad. He's mine.

I tried to set up a friend's wireless connection. I failed miserably, it's not easy. It made me never want to see the control panel ever again

{config}ulations... thoguh I prefer good, old-fasion, cable lines.

I communicate with the internet using carrior pigeons. You whippersnappers can keep your fancy wires, and microwaves, and roll and rock music.

Lay off your hands of my rock and roll music you... you... midgit :bleh:

Exactly how do you set up a wireless connection btw? What's so hard in it?

t0mme 08-06-2005 05:59 AM

In my neighbourhood their are three unprotected wireless-networks. So when my cable is out I always connect to one of those with my laptop. It's easy and free :D

Sebatianos 08-06-2005 07:08 AM

I told you that all you needed was a wire :bleh:

thats some pretty powerful WIFI to cross the atlantic ;)
it is possible to send tcp/ip over shortwaves.. they do it in africa with radio modems i think.

PUFFIN: can you fix me up with a nice icelandic girl? ;)

Rogue 08-06-2005 12:25 PM

Good for you Puff! :)

I have one neighbor having unprotected network, and it helped me to browse internet in my backyard. I my self have a wireless router, but I am not using it. (no that high need at home for wireless)

At work I had to set up wireless using pre-shared key (PSK) WEP, and that can be nightmare.... especially if you have to set up 10 or more users to use it…

Woah many responses

First, we started off by connecting the rauter and all that. Then we were supposed to enter IE, (which i hate, btw), and enter some IP number. But all we got was This Page Cannot Be Displaid.

Then we realized that we had managed to screw up the phone!! So we went and solved that. Then tried different ways of connecting the stuff.... the wires and that!

We called the Customer Help 4 times. We called my mom who's a computer-fixer. We called his mom who used to work at the phone company when the first internet was coming to iceland, setting up the net. Neither of them had any idea what was wrong.

THE COMPANY HADN'T ACTIVATED IT YET, ALTHOUGH THEY SAID THEY HAD. Gah.

Then everything went PERFECTLY. Untill at last, we saw the Log. It had two errors. So we had to start over.

I was so friggin happy when we were done!!!!!
Right now I'm at home (using my neighbours wireless, i don't like them.), talking to my boyfriend on msn! HE'S ON MSN!!!!!!! :w00t:

Unclefester: Me and the Yankee broke up ages ago.
xoopx: Just come over, I'll find you someone you might like ;)

xoopx 08-06-2005 01:19 PM

hah we've all tried to debug connection problems, only to find out it was the cable/phone company having problems :wall:
