Rollcage

This is the place to share tips and talk about Rollcage.

Oh my god, Rollcage! I played the demo obsessively. Starting a challenge - taking a shortcut right at the beginning - landing not perfectly - restarting the challenge immediately - continue ad infinitum.

Now I have a game to play with my friend! :2thumbs: (If it wasn't for that short-cabled controllers... :wall: )

As far as I remember, you can change the camera. But it may very well be that the camera is unfortunate.

If you get this:

(Rollcage needs to be installed from a CD ROM drive.)

[edit] Changed the instructions and attached a registry data file. If you don't want to make the changes described below completely manually, open and read it. [/edit]

...you can edit your Windows registry ([Start] -> [Run...] -> type regedit -> [OK]):
go to create (right-click on the directory and choose [New] -> [Key] for each directory level)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Psygnosis\Rollcage\Ins taller
(it should be there if you executed the RollCage.exe)
(the space is made by the forums after 50 characters)
right click into the right frame and choose
[New] -> [String Value]
enter
[Source]
double-click on Source and type
X:\DISK1\
where X is an existing CD ROM drive
-> [OK]
execute the RollCage.exe

By the way: Could someone without ImageShack account tell me if he sees the picture?

I had known about Rollcage since because of its gameplay and its soundtrack. One of my favorites.

Rollcage is awesome!
I just recently played it with some friends, because it's one of the few (good) games you can play with 4 ppl local. The controls can be very hard if you are unexperienced, but that's the only negative point about this awesome game.

I stand corrected for my first post. I meant Rollcage II. The predecessor is utterly frustrating.

First, I see the picture, don't worry.

But my problem is that I've run the batch file, and I've tried running RollCage.exe, but it doesn't run, and those folders aren't there when I go into Regedit. There's no Psygnosis folder. Do you have another way to get this to work, or at least a way to put that folder into the registry?

follow the guide on the review page, on the bottom. you can create those keys if they are not there

Japo 15-05-2011 04:52 PM

Usually you would use a .reg file to insert values into the registry, although here the drive letter will depend on each case...
