ARGH!! HELP ME! I know for sure I've heard a really good cover somewhere of the song Hocus Pocus by the dutch prog rock band Focus but I cannot for the life of me remember who it was by!! ARRRGHggrgagagghbleugh ...I'm losing the plot over this. I seem to recall that it was by a band like Iron Maiden or someone like that...maybe having that one name stuck in my head is what's stopping me, but either way, can someone help me out so I can die happy? (I'm not dying, just being overly dramatic)

Well, Helloween did a cover of that song. It's on "Metal Jukebox", an all-covers album they released in 1999. And they sure got their fair share of being tagged as Iron Maiden's copycats so, it might be them.

Sorry, no link. But a rockin' smiley band ! :band:

Sorry Frodo, that's not it, I'm sure I remember the singer in the version I heard having a proper old school rock voice, maybe I'm wrong, but either way, that version you showed me wasn't it. I'll check out the Helloween version, Vaz, but I don't think it was them either. OH MY GOD, as I type this I remembered what it was...I was just thinking "I'll go through my CDs and find out".. and suddenly I remembered - Vanessa Mae used the guitar riff from Hocus Pocus on one of her tracks, only she played it on violin, obviously. HOLY JESUS CHRIST thank f**k I remembered that. I think she covered the whole song, or maybe she just used the riff, but it was definitely her. I'm going to go and get the CD now. Or just stream the track somewhere. Thanks for the help anyway guys!
