I saw such poll on one of our Russian forum, which I passed through, while was looking for info about those wooden swords, so I was interesting, what people think here.
Those RPG players are not players, who play computer RPGs (sorry for repeating... :tomato: ). They play RPGs in real. I mean, they reconstruct some historical episode and plays it in some roles outdoor. They use those wooden swords, specific clothes (which fit timeline they reconstruct) and so on. There are many such clubs in Russia (unfortunately no one in my town).
Except "reconstructors", there are "tolkienists", who play games based on Tolkien's stories, but we are talking about role players here.

I share that few also...
It's good if you aren't being serious.
Me and my friends used to scare people by running around in battle armor that a friend's dad had made for him.

How real are the LARP battles??
I've always wondered...

LOL It reminds me a anecdotic story, that someone posted on that forum, where I saw this kind of poll at first time. The story was about him and his friend. As it says, I would like to believe, that it was true.
It was like that.
That man and his friend were playing game in forest. They were walking in forest and met a mushroom collector (man, who collects mushrooms for food, I don't know, how it would be in English). He asked:
- Can you tell me, where is the exit from forest?
Friend of that storyteller thought a bit:
- I don't remember. Go, ask monks there. - he gestured.
- What monks? (man pricked up his ears)
Then that friend remembered, that in their game they didn't have any monks.
- Oh, I'm sorry, PRIESTS...
After that, another player jumped out from the bushes in full-plate with shout "WOW, WHO AM I SEE!?" And then jumped back, after he saw a mushroom collector.
After man saw priests in cassocks, with staves and white faces...
Well, nobody ever saw that man in that forest.
