Max Payne is back!

Something is finally moving, at the beginning, when I heard about the movie I laughed a lot...well you know it's not so easy to create a movie based on a game, especially this one ...however it seems they worked a lot and they tried to follow the original plot, actually I don't have great expectations, but since I liked the games I think I'll go to the cinema anyway.

You can watch the trailer here:

Perhaps you don't remember that the story of Max Payne didn't end with the second game, the good thing is that the movie has probably given new fuel to the developement of the third title of the series, which it was awaited for years from fans...
More info here: Gamespot.

Let's hope they won't waste this opportunity, I think it could be a success or a big fail! :cheesy:

This actually looks really good as a movie. I'm sincerely hoping that some stupid group of desk jockeys over this side of the world don't rate it at R18. That would then require a torrent. I would, of course, rather see it in the cinema, but when the going gets tough, the tough get torrents.

Great, I'm certainly looking forward to this.

it says John Moore is making it. is he a good director?

You can find info here: Link

He generally worked on dark/esoteric action movies, some titles like Behind Enemy Lines, Bourne Ultimatum, Pitch Black...the good thing is that Sam Lake, who wrote the original novel for the game and gave the face to the first Max Payne (His face :)) has adapted the plot to the movie.

This is the cast:

Never played the games, but I might give this one a chance.

I'm not really understanding Hollywood's choices of tough guys nowadays. Not as strange as Matt Damon for Bourne but still.

I can see before my eyes how they will use the "slow" effect in the movie haha. I don't even think max payne is a good movie hope it will be a better movie.

Notes:

Big minus for Milla Kunis, she is too teeny/soft faced for role of Sax

Wahlberg is ok, after all it's quite hard to find lookalike who can also act. Wahlberg as an actor is ok but nothing fancy.

Decent visuals.

Big minus for another stupid unrelated sword guy (unless he reselmbles something instead of being real character).

In the end, looks like another hollywood shooter no-brainer.

At first the visuals/mood seemed to follow the original... but then there was some gibberish about angels/demons? WTF? Did you notice that too?

With IJ4 people didn't believe me that there will be aliens in Indy movie... and unfortunately I was right. I just hope that the character which was babbling about supernatural stuff was just doped...
