First Evil Dead. My first comment is, does anyone else realize that this movie is based on the books by H.P. Lovecraft??? I mean, the trouble doesn't start until they find the Necronomicon in a cabin and read it. And the same thing happens in the Mummy. Does anyone else agree with me here??? What do you think of these Lovecraft-based movies. Like Alien and the Thing are also Lovecraft-based. Anyone else notice this???

But what do you mean with "Anyone else notice this"? That events only start when you do something that allows them to start?

In Evildead, the Necronomicon is a book invented by Lovecraft.
In the thing, the creature is a shoggoth, also invented by Lovecraft.
