My floppy disk broke itself

:wall:

Anyone have syndicate american revolt floppy disk?

I bought a floppy disk from amazon that somehow had little dirt rocks inside the disk.

I did not know that at the time when I put the disk in my drive it would make a terrible noise...

Something like SSSCCCREEEEEAAAAAKKKKKKCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!

I quickly ejected the disk and examined the inside, little dirt rock things inside of it damaged and scratched the part that had the data on it.

I knocked most of it out and before this happend I was ready to make a back up copy of it.

I got most of the data before it became unreadable.

I bought another disk from the internet thinking it would be a good copy but I was wrong, someone used a disk recovery program on it and most of the data was overwritten.

No boot sector, no file directory, just crap mostly but that didn't stop me from thinking that maybe some data is still good so I made a copy of it and used a hex editor to look at it and compared it with what I had.

I was able to find some good pieces I did not have and copied it to the better floppy disk image but could not get dos4gw.

I went looking on the internet for a disk rip and found it.

Winimage was used to copy good files to the disk image because using the hex editor would take too long but winimage changes the file directory so I had to restore the original file directory using the hex editor and it deletes some extra data before and after the file you overwrite.

Now I have about 99% original of a working disk image, all I need is the extra data that is after the boot sector and before dos4gw.

Anyone have an original syndicate american revolt disk image that I can use to fix my disk image?

I just wish that I did, yet alas, I own Syndicate Plus, and not the floppy disk version of the American Revolt expansion pack.

There you go - Link
Just click on Downloads below the game's description and click on Download (Install) where you'll have the already installed game in a ZIP archive. Hope that is what you need, unless you wanted the raw uninstalled image of the floppy.

You are lucky that it wasn't a CD dissolving within your PC.
