Hi all, I came across the site when I was looking for free enterprise, since you guys and gals have a great memory for old games I wondered if anyone has any clue what I am describing.
1st off I'm not sure if this was a pc game or just some online game, but the graphics were really really simple. Its a planet lander type game. You started out in you space ship which was just a small triangle orbiting a circle which was your home planet. Inside the circle were some shapes mostly squares one was L- shaped. So anyway at the start you launched from some orbital platform and you needed to steer toward some empty planet. At the same time there were computer controled triangles lauching from their home planets. When you found an empty planet you were to land on it, and in the center of the circle, it changed to your color, and 2 builder ships launched from your home planet toward the new planet you landed on. Then they got there and they disappeared and built the first square on the planet. There after every couple of minutes an new "building" would appear. If you encountered another triangle. You would want to shoot it and blow it up, cause otherwise it could steal your colonly by shooting all the buildings off and then landing and changing the color to their color. Another major aspect was the gravity near planets and stars. Also every once an a while the l shaped building would turn white and if you landed on the planet, you got an upgrade, either a shiled or missile or something. Any clues? |
You ARE losing your mind, but kind of reminds me of master of orion
is it pc game or something else? |
Did it have anything to do with errecting a mining station or colony?
In a sense it resembles starflight, though I seriously doubt the possibility thats your game. |
Yeah I know this thread is ancient, but I think I might know this one, its an IBM only game, I'll find the name sooner or later, likely take some time given the irrelevancey of the descritption and lack of clones.

Sounds very interesting... If you checked games similar to lander games on the net, perhaps you should check similar games to Star Control, although it is not lander really.

So far I've spent 5 boring hours researching this game and went through countless games in refferance.
It smacks of a simple ibm interface by descritption and I'm fairly sure I've played it, for those of you who attended elementary school in the late 80's and early 90's in the U.S. you'd likely be familiar with the endless scads of games produced for education littered throughout wealthy towns and U.S. cities. Still looking, endlessly... |
So nice to see you back safe and sound, Pox. I was just wondering how you were about a week ago. :)
