Kosta 14-07-2004 08:53 PM

Who would supply the bots? :)

FreeFreddy 14-07-2004 08:53 PM

When you chat through the internet with microsoft chat,mIRC etc this is called irc

FreeFreddy 14-07-2004 09:06 PM

Hmm, not sure if this would be too useful... But it would make the talking a bit more "live" :D Ok, I vote for it as yes.

You can actually use IRC to transfer files peer to peer so it can be quite useful if you are looking for stuff. But of coz I am not suggesting doing anything illegal.

Omuletzu 17-07-2004 12:33 PM

I voted yes because it's a great idea(a great idea that sadly i wont be able to use :( )

Durak 17-07-2004 01:05 PM

Bots are not hard to get. Plus my brother has even made a fair number of them.

I think an IRC channel would be a good idea if people actually used it. A very conveniant place to talk and ask questions, although I don't know if Abandonia would really need it because questions can be answered here and they stay here so that others can see them.

IRC stands for instant relay chat dunno about mirc its made by some freeware programmer.

Maikel 18-07-2004 09:19 AM

yup, irc has nothing to do with microsoft. I had a irc channel when working on a game mod. it really helps. + it can be fun.

/me slaps around with a large trout

or something like that

Kiddiarni 18-07-2004 04:18 PM

FreeFreddy 18-07-2004 08:48 PM

Do not know, I think...

The Niles 18-07-2004 08:49 PM

"do not know"spelled phonetically.

Durak 19-07-2004 03:03 AM

mIRC is a free program that connects to IRC where you can select the server you would like to connect to, and then continue to join chatrooms. Some other programs offer this such as Opera and Trillian but as a bundle. Opera being a web browser has this feature installed, and Trillian is a program where you can connect to a few popular chats at once in a single program.

Concerning the slang "dunno", it probably came from people saying don't know (don't know is short for I don't know) pretty fast so it merged into don'tknow, which sounds like sort of like the pronounciation of "dunno".

mika 19-07-2004 07:22 AM

For the people that don't know what we're talking about, check http://www.mirc.com.

How can you use irc through opera? (i've got the 7.23 version is it ok?)

mika 19-07-2004 12:00 PM

Mirc is a stand-alone program - so you don't use it through anything. Download it and try it out - it's actually pretty cool

Durak 19-07-2004 01:22 PM

The newer versions of Opera have a Chat button on the side where you can connect to IRC...or maybe it's just if you register...

Bob 19-07-2004 03:56 PM

could stand for multimedia it fits it i just had the idea it was multi like connect to multiple servers and channels :)
