How to synchronize subtitles?

Hi, mates,

Well, I DL nice films from Net. Because i an Bulgarian I DL BG subtitles also.
But some of subtitles do not follow the voice of the artists, they are not synchronized.
I try manually to correct problems - in vain.

I tried some programs - same results. I del these programs if YOU asked me and now not remember their names.

Any help is welcomed.

TY

Films?
Avatar, Harry Potter saga, one Russian film -The white sun of the desert (Here i used russian subtitles because i know very well Russian) and so on.
Actually this is not problem for me, but for my girl is..

:rambo:

Excuse me if same Q is also disputed and let THE MOD delete the tread..

get this program

i'm pretty sure there are many more that can do the job but i used this one and it's been perfect

you can either move subtitles back and forward or completely re-sync them (some movies have faster frame rate, some slower and even though the subtitles go properly at first they may slow down/speed up and desync)

this awesome complete resync is done by showing 2 specific lines from the subtitles (for example first and the last, but anything works) and then you just click when is the thing said in the movie. the program syncs everything automatically then

Hey russ, I think I will use that program, too. I get a lot of this while watching movies and series and while when looking for english subtitles isn't that bad, looking for working spanish subtitles for a movie or series I watch with my wife can be really frustrating... :(

Thanks for the app!

i saw that you had problems with uploading pictures so i will rather give you a piece of advice, after modifying the subtitles don't forget to click "SAVE" =P

If you guys watch your movies on your PC and not on a DVD/DivX player, you can easily synchronize subtitles in VLC player which is a great piece of software anyway. You can also synchronize audio/video if it's out of sync, etc.

does it works on those goddamned subtitles that start perfect, then it is a few milliseconds out of sync, then a couple of seconds, then a couple of minutes, then almost a whole week out of sync? :p

I always use Gaupol under Linux, but if I remember correctly there is a Windows version too. Try it, it's easy.
