"Wolfenstien: The New Order" reveal trailer in Hercules Graphics (WIP)

I'm currently working on converting the reveal trailer for Wolfenstien: The New Order into Hercules Graphics. Having done some previous tests on still images, and having gotten some favorable results, I decided to go full-on and convert an entire video. The quality, in spite of it being only two colors (black and, in this case, green), could be improved in places, but overall, the conversion has gone surprisingly well.

The process is actually quite simple: take an individual frame from the trailer, scale it down to the size of a Hercules Graphics image (720x348), then convert the image to MDA, with white being swapped out for one of the Hercules colors (in this case, amber). Repeat 2,401 times (in this case, anyways), and you're done! :)

You can download the current version of the video here (in authentic 720x348): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...culesAmber.mp4

I'm also experimenting with the audio to make it sound more like it's actually coming from a PC Speaker, rather than a 16-bit sound card as it's been described in feedback. As such, here's a REALLY low-fidelity sound version of the above video: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/..._PCSpeaker.mp4

Also, here are some stills from the video for those who are interested:

EDIT: Updated links as well as my process description - thanks for the tips, Tracker!

OMG, this is perfect, and it suits Wolfenstein as well. I wonder if a similar style can be used for real in a game or animation movie... :mhh:

It would be interesting to have a program or hack render every frame like this real time. :D I'm not much of an IT guru but I guess it could be arranged. Until then, things like this are all we have.

I tried to give retrofitting images a try, and this was the result:

EGA vs. Hercules Monochrome (Amber)

The Hercules one is a pain to look at... the damn lines keep bouncing around the more I look at it. XD

Well, it is far from perfect, naturally. I tried to make it look a little bit better, and I think the absence of dithering on the ceiling helped a lot to make it easier to look at. Unfortunately I can't do anything about the floor (yet), since Photoshop insists on filling it with mostly useless pixels.

To get briefly off-topic, here's my Hercules version of the Wolf3D image you posted, Tracker:

Yep, yours looks a lot better, that's how it was meant to be looking. :)
