Hi Peoples of the Forums,

I have arrived at Abandonia after finding my old haunt (CDOS Abandonware) very much abandoned... (No pun intended)...:wacko:

I'm hoping to get very much involved in the boards here and also have a laugh!

From what I can gather most forums seem to be faily quiet these days and I can't quite figure out why!

I don't know if in general many people chose to move to GOG...??

At Abandonia in particular there hasn't been a generation change after most of the old staff/core left normally for whatever random personal reasons.

Also the website is still leading in the abandonware scene, but it's not properly maintained since it was bought out, and this discourages old members.

There are still more people lurking around than it seems, so a little activity can make us pop :P

@Japo I think you may be right that a lot of people have headed over to GOG, I do use that site sometimes namely for the Baldurs Gate games etc I tend to find that sites like Abandonia stock a better and more classic variety of games. (Magic Pockets and Space Crusade come to mind!)

I also feel that while sites like GOG do have some great games that the communities are not as welcoming/varied as Forums on Abandonia, CDOS etc etc. Maybe this is just because the community is so large that you don't get to know the regular forum users.

Also, we had a registration bug for years, which put a damper on things...

They may also be a post bug as well, as I'm certain that I've posted more then 5/6 times!! :D
