hello,

i have installed dosbox on my computer in order to play old computer games. most work, but i'm having a problem with the 1992 trilobyte game the seventh guest - i downloaded it, set the sound and video settings, but when i try to run it, the screen goes black and then closes. suggestions?

You might want to check out the comments in this link: DosBox page. The link included in the last post might be helpful. Otherwise the only other option would be to try to play 7th Guest in Windows 98 or an old Dos computer.

Since 7th guest seems to be abandonware: may I ask if someone will be able to add this gem to the site. Can't find it anywhere...

It's Abandonware allright. Problem is, it's also pretty big. Imagine what would happen to our bandwidth if 4000 people started downloading the 500-meg game from the site?

Well, now that you're mentioning it... I remember it coming on a full-packed cd-rom. Forgot about that, sry. :whistling:

The 7th Guest used to be a bitch with conventional memory.
You probably need to use some custom config.sys, not sure if you can do this with DOSBox or how. I'm sure it'll tell you on the website.
