Something that gets asked/discussed on any gaming community about once a week  but still, always interesting to know what people think.

I used to cheat like crazy when I was younger, which is a shame really as I feel now it spoiled some of the games. Now, however, I play the games correctly and enjoy every moment of it. There is something really satifying about compleating a game without using cheats at all.

One really strange thing that I have found is that sometimes I am really let down by the AI in a game and almost feel like I have cheated (for example the computer attacks the strongest point of my defences in a Strategy game).

I only cheat in online games.

Fruit Pie Jones 18-04-2005 05:50 PM

No way. That ruins the fun.

Occasionly I'll do it, sometimes I do it to just mess with the game a little like going invincible and reigning havoc in Deus Ex

I usually have more than two saves in each game, one I play properly and another I use cheats for for fun. In games like Morrowind I give myself the ability to run really fast and jump over buildings and things.

Same as havell. I will play the game without cheats and play it with the coolest and most cheats. Like in megaman legends where you can get super jump and roller skates.

Only once I beat it, or it's frustratingly impossible, as it is with most arcade games.
(Ikaruga drove me insane)

I should amend my earlier post: After I've beaten a game legitimately, if I'm not sick of it, I may go back through, cheating like the devil, just to see what else I can find.

Yeah beating the game, and then just having fun that maybe you were too scared to do, or just fooling around, always helps to prolong the game experience.

reigning havoc in Deus Ex
Ahh a great game... but Deus Ex 2 was a real dissapointment (bought a new graphics card so I could play it & Doom 3 without problems and they *both* turn out to be horrible games).

Deus Ex is also great fun multiplayer.
