I believe most of you have heard of UFO2000, which is a multiplayer modification of X-Com: ufo defence. so I was thinking why not make a tournament right here on abandonia? depending on how many people turn up we can either make it with grid or olympic system.
I suggest we use the 0.6.627 version, since it's the one most of you have allready, and there is allways a link to it on the page.
unfortunately we'll have to use thir server (lxnt.info:2000) , because somwhere along the way U2k lost the ability to act as one (it had one back in the 0.4x-es, along with LAN and IPX)
all the game should be deathmatches with standard rules (15000 points, 15 men team limit, level 3 explosives, level 1 exploration, 240 second time limit).

oh, I forgot to mention- we're open for new Ideas, so if you think somethink isn't right (or missing), post about it.

No it didn't, just use the included ufo2000-srv.exe on the game folder, then put the server's IP on the Login window for multiplayer.

indeed. silly me. allthoug it's still a spearte server application and you have to run the game to connect.

By the way, it seems like it would be actually a bit better to use the most recent beta, even just because of the added features:

I already use the beta version. It doesn't crash, but on my computer I haven't got any sound until they will fix that bug. (it's strange that on my mother's computer the sound works with this version)

they change betas as fast as I change socks (well maybe a wee bit slower...), I would really hate if we would all end up with diffrent version. :sneaky:

:ot: (sort of) what is it with the new weapon set (I donloaded the beta 26 on monday to try it), wasn't this supposed to be a muliplayer mod for C-COM?
