Oh another game I was playing is Myst IV. I got quite far until I got a new computer and had to start over for the third time (first time my old computer crashed and all mys aves were gone) Now I still need to convince myself to replay all those dreadfull puzzles. I play Myst IV for the graphics and the story, I always feel great when I finish a Myst game, especially Myst III: Exile had a great effect on me.

Another game I've been playing has been Outlaws, just for fun to bring back the memories, although the cut-scenes I really enjoy to watch.

I think that minesweepwr works only in the small mode. Any bigger and it loses its charm and just gets boring, but in it's small mose it truely is a thing of beauty (plus my record is 24 seconds).

I played Europa 1400: The Guild for about 2 hours yesterday. Thats the longest I've spent playing a game at one time for almost a month. I probably should have chosen a better game to spend all that time on.

Just a little warning to all of you who want to beat the record.

There is a bug in Minesweeper. Have you noticed that sometimes it takes the program a long time to change from 0 to 1 second? If you clear the board within that time (it is possible, my brother did it when we had a Minesweeper competition) your record will be deleted and you will have 999 secs as the best time.

So be careful ;)

and I believe I read somewhere use a rather expendable unit to draw some out at a time and kill (or salvage them according to this walkthrough, which is crazy about salvaging...)

LOL once I had scouts harrasing my destroyers and heavy cruisers. they didn't last long after some ion cannons just sliced them up, literally! I killed the lot using ion cannons :blink: so much for them being anti-capital ships only... heavy cruisers = 4 ion cannons on turrets, but yet an ion cannon cruiser, a ship 1/2 of that size takes up most of itself with one ion cannon... LOL guess someone made an improvment ^^

It's pretty good, as MMORPGs go, but gets a bit repetative, the missions are basically the same thing, but in different locations. But, if you like hunting down nasties with a group of people, and having to be somewhat tactical about it, then it's worth a go :ok:

I used to love soloing and sneaking up on baddies using bugs in the system, hehe.

Also! Character creation rocks!

Edit: Don't try using bugs as a Doctor, though. My doctor class sucked at it. Nanotechs are good, though, especially as I had badazz duel wield pistols that would roXx0r j00, plus a bit o' nanotech "magic" to pull out of my non-existant hat.

On the main site, if you select to download from "German HTTP" then you don't need birtorrent, it's just an ordinary download..

For some reason my Anarchy Online download is taking immesurable amounts of time. It only goes at up to 10k a second. I am very confused. Other downloads go up to 450k a second.

the server probably doesnt go faster than 10k! your connection can only go as fast as the thing you're connected to

It depends where you are downloading from, I got it from the German HTTP and it downloaded at 70k (normal speed for me).

I just finished KOTOR2 yesterday. Nice storyline up to a certain point, then it went gradually downhill, concluding in the extremely disappointing ending. :/

Well, 2 days ago I bought "Half Life 2", I still hate Counterstrike, but this game is really good, one thing though, even though the grafics are cranked up 2 times more than Doom3's it still doesnt get the full detail quality... :whistle:

(Which'll probabally be wednesday-thursday, considereing today is easter). But it's shipping as a duel-jewel with another game, Shadowgate...never heard of it. Is that any good? o.O (but ooh I can't wait to play Torment, I used to have it, got to Pharod and the disc broke....you know how it is, those mysterious cracks in the center of the disc with 1 crack that manages to crack a little too far.)

well... my most favourite game at the moment is called "Abandonia online".

It is a text-based website simulation featuring the adding and editing of reviews and news, providing of new abandongames and a forum, you can post and spam into with a steadily growing amount of other players answering your questions and so on...
To keep the game interesting there is some strange AI, called "Admins", which likes to interfere with the players actions and to change the game's parameters randomly.

It is entirely controlled by mouse and keyboard, with left-click to select links and right click for the copy and paste functions.

The grafics are ok for the time it was released and the sound is not existing. Nevertheless I rate this game with a straight 5, as you get into it very fast and may start to hang out with it for the whole day.

So take a look at www.abandonia.com, register at the forums and try to get your post-count up as fast as possible :D

Very true. When I started playing the game and it had all these cinematic events (like with the turrets at the start when you just reach the ebonhawk again) I thought the entire game would be like that... but after a while you can see they started rushing it (first half was really slow and deep while the second half was very very fast and disappointing)
For example you can see they left out some big quests and scenes, like the destruction of the HK droid factory and using the Mandalorian Battle Droid to enter the city (at first it was planned that the player actually uses it to destroy the turrets in the city while he's flying to the surface... but they scraped that too)


Anyway,
I'm now playing Act of War, Republic Commando and The Black Mirror.

i only play The Black Mirror sporadically because, while I do think its an entertaining and above all dark game, the acting is painstakingly slow and weak.

Act of War is good, its what C&C generals should have been, and republic commando is quite fun too (except for the sometimes annoying AI of the teammates)

I've been trying to get into Star Ocean for the snes, with translation patch and all, but it just doesn't seem to grow on me like other Final Fantasy games, and other rpg's that I've played.

Have you seen that thread on the Obsidian forums, where people posted all the dialogue that was apparently left in the files, but cut out from the game? It's really sad to see that the ending was actually meant to be much better, but was shortened due to time or money reasons or whatever.
