First of all, you are wrong. Only Xcom 1 is abandonware, Xcom 2 is still sold and Xcom 3 is protected (it can be verified on Abandonia's Oldwarez List )

Finally :

Age alone doesn't make a difference: a game made in 1999 may already have become Abandonware, while one dating back to 1987 might be still sold.[/b]
For a more complete explanation about "Abandonware" read this sticky (from What is Abandonware and what is not? to... the end :) )

These two years make all the difference. Microprose is an ESA subsidiary and as such we cannot offer this game until 10 years have passed since its publication.

The game will become available again on 1st January 2008, unless someone is able to find it's exact publication date (I'll look into my stash of old game mags, think I might find some info on it).
