is set in a future many years after a world war with china. seems maybe china won as well from the amount of chineese language used and the way charectors will switch into chineese when they are swearing. new scientist voted it top sci fi , probably due to the way that there is no faster than light. its set in one large planetery system that has been terreformed.
on the u.s.s enterprise you got a counciller. on the serenity you have a hooker. i know which ship i would sighn up for had i the chance.

sci fi are showing it at times. it was originally on fox. but they cancelled it...
its pretty annoying, and led to joss wheedon saying he will never work for fox again.
what happened is they put it on really late. and messed its schedualing around. reminiscent of what happened to bab 5 but i have heard no hints of paramount skullduggery. i dont think the suits new what to do with it. they showed it in the wrong order. and it doesnt make much sense unless u see it in the order it was written.
it has gotten far more popular after the fox run..
you can usually find the boxed set on discount in hmv so its well worth buying for the extras and better visual quality ect..
DO NOT watch the movie untill you have seen the t.v series.

I hated time they emited BattleStar Galactica. I followed 1st and 2nd season, but I had to stop in the middle of the 3rd season because of loss in family.

Speaking of Galactica, complet set of season 1 costs 55 bucks and season 2 is 40 bucks. Much more then they charge for any other series, and reason is that they can be bought only at BestBuy?! :ranting:

I'll check how much is DVD set of FireFly.
