Gadget - Lost in Time [NON-PC]

I have troubles finding a game. :help:
Unfortunately I am not sure what is its name. I remember GADGET, but I searched everywhere with this name and I didn't find it :(
It is about a little man, who comes with his ship in the era of dinosaurs and has to get a crystal, by answering some questions about the dinosaurs.
First screen is the little man with its ship, then it goes to the next screen where there is a jungle and water and a dinosaur. The little man cannot kill the dinosaur, but, if it jumps on its head, the dino gets small and puts him a question, where u have to answer a, b or c.
If you answer correctly to 3 questions you can get the crystal with “u” key. Then the little man goes back to his ship and flies away to the next level – Ancient Egypt – where, the same, has to rescue the crystal. The next level is something with Greece, then … Vikings I guess, Medieval London, something with machines, then a black and white – movie type scene, then the moon, and a forest (the last level) This is as much as I can remember. Please, please!!! Help me find this game. I sincerely appreciate.
Thank you very very much!
It is very important to me!

Anybody remembers anything about this game? Just write me back, please... if u know... :help:

Scatty 19-01-2006 07:20 PM

Maybe you mean Inspector Gadget from this site?

Andreea 19-01-2006 08:36 PM

No :( It is not Inspector Gadget.

The little man in "my game" was alone, there weren't any "helps" around him...

Anybody remembers anything? :wall:

Reup 19-01-2006 08:53 PM

Is it one of these games?

Andreea 20-01-2006 12:36 AM

No there isn't any of those games :(

I guess I should forget about the name Gadget, it's definitelly not it.

I've just remembered something else... On the second level, at Ancient Egypt or something, at the end I had to "fight" a mummy with the "u" key again (which I think gave me a cane from my inventory). I don't remember how I fought it, I guess I was hiting the mummy, until it gave me the crystal.

Then... in Greece at the end I had to fight Medussa, with the snakes in her hair.

Hmm... in Vikings there was also a ship...

Uh! :ranting: I'm so keen on finding this game, I cannot imagine it!!! :tomato:

I also remember that I got stuck in the "Moon level" for a long time, because I didn't know where the next question was, but after a while I realized that there is an arrow pointing down, underground.

The image of the game was something like "keen 4" - that kind of people...

Maybe it's funny but I think the little guy had glasses :)

Please please help! :help:

Andreea 20-01-2006 12:41 AM

By the way... the ship from the beginning is a rocket, and the first screen is the littel guy with the rocket and then it goes to the next screen... which doens's continue to the first one... I mean it start right over. I don't know how to explain, but it shows that it is an old game :) with screens... 6 screens has the first level, not a continuesly one
Does anyone understands something?

Aristharus 20-01-2006 05:38 AM

I have a feeling I've seen a friend of mine playing that when we were little. He had an Amiga, though.

Unfortunately I don't remember almost anything at all about the game and I haven't heard of this friend in years, so I can't ask him about it, sorry.

swiss 20-01-2006 06:04 AM

If you play to the end there's this wierd moon thing.

Andreea 20-01-2006 02:02 PM

No... it's not that one either...

For example the trees in level 1 were as big as the screen, and the rocket as well...

I played it with a friend of my, we were really good, it was a nice game, can it dissapear? My friend says I should forget about it and grow up :ranting:

p.s. I'm a girl :bye:

If I remember something I'll tell u :(

Andreea 20-01-2006 02:12 PM

OK... The thing is that he's in evolution... as I said, it starts in the era of dinos, then egypt, greece... medieval london... the era of the machines (where there are screws and I remember at the end of this level, the crystal comes on wavy ramp, it's all so clear in my mind, but I can't explain it!!!) - anyway this level with the screws was the longest one. In Greece there was a big sculpture and I could have another life if I jumped high in the sky, in a small white cloud.

Now... the questions - they were a, b, c and maybe d sometimes and I had to answer acording to which level I was in... for ex, at the dinos I had to answer something about dinosaurs(like: what kind of dino does that... a...b...c... u know...) at the Egypt about Egyptions traditions... and so on, so it was educational! At the black and white screen he had to answer something about movies, that was all the point of the game to FIND the questions, which I don't remember in what form they came :( answer them and when I answered 3-4 questions correctly I could get the crystal and get back to my "rocket"

:(

I'm waiting... maybe... :help:

Master MC 20-01-2006 02:38 PM

Sounds like an educational game.
Is it?

Andreea 20-01-2006 02:40 PM

Well... I tried the educational games, but I didn't find it :(

I'm still looking for it, but I had no luck :(

Sharp 20-01-2006 06:11 PM

Sounds like THIS ONE

Of course it might not be.

Andreea 20-01-2006 06:25 PM

Ok... I'm getting really depressed

It's not that one either :(

What should I do!?? :help:

But hey... THANKS for helping me though!

First of all, calm down :D
The Abandonia-team is very helpful, if we can't find it, no one can. Or something...

Don Andy 20-01-2006 07:58 PM

I have some game in mind, but I can't clearly remember it anymore.

Was the man, by any means, a green alien? If not, I'm probably horrible wrong.

Andreea 20-01-2006 08:32 PM

Nop... it wasn't an alien...

I said above that I think he was wearing glasses :D

No problem... I'll wait! :tnx:

CodyJarrett 20-01-2006 08:59 PM

It's called Gadget - "Lost In Time" and was on the Amiga (and probably the PC too).

Master MC 20-01-2006 10:28 PM

Well, good luck finding it, seems quite difficult at a first glance :w00t:

Andreea 20-01-2006 10:53 PM

OMG!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it!!!! :Brain: :Brain: :Brain:

How can I ever thank you!??? :tnx: :tnx: :tnx:

You have made me the happiest person EVER!

Thanks everyone, especially CodyJarret!

Now I'm going to find it. If I can't play it I'm coming back to you guys :D

Btw I have Windows XP... so it will be hard...

Anyway... bye :bye:

Andreea 21-01-2006 01:09 AM

Ok... I don't FIND IT TO PLAY!

Where can I get a download?

Please help! :)

_r.u.s.s. 21-01-2006 01:14 AM

in lemonade->download section you can find all the requiements
but iam realy not expert on amiga=/

Andreea 21-01-2006 02:08 AM

It gave me an error when I tryed to install the components :(

Can't I play it on PC?

I don't know what to say, I'm not an expert in games requirements :(

I was looking around "amiga emulation" but frankly I don't even know what amiga or emulation means
So if anyone is too kind to direct me exactly where I have to go and what I have to download... PLEASE! :kosta: <-- I think this is a please sign :D

Any ideas will be most welcome :tnx:

Grunaki 21-01-2006 05:12 AM

Just an idea, but it wasn't Time Bandit by Microdeal was it?

That has all sorts of questions and text-questy bits in it...

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see that you already found it...

I can help you with Amiga emulation though...

http://www.winuae.net/ - Amiga Emulator

You'll need to download a Kickstart ROM for it, but they're easily found on Google.

Amiga is a console type thing like N64, PSX, GBA and the like. An emulator emulates that in a computer screen making it playable on PC. Emlators take a lot of RAM FYI.

* 2. To compete with successfully; approach or attain equality with.
* 3. Computer Science. To imitate the function of (another system), as by modifications to hardware or software that allow the imitating system to accept the same data, execute the same programs, and achieve the same results as the imitated system.

A ROM meaning Read-Only-Memory. ROMs are games that are run through the emlator. e.g I run N64emu.exe and then Open a ROM like n64game.zip. A zip file contains a cartridge/disc data file. You can get certain hardware for you computer to mke ROMs. But are most definatley hard to find because it is semi-illegal.

Hope that cleared it up for ya. :ok:

Not entirely correct. Amiga was a home-computer, today's PCs-like and not a console like Nintendo & Co.
And Amiga's operating system and games mostly ran from a floppy disk, although later systems had HD's, too. Rom-modules were only used in C64 but not in Amiga anymore.
Here more info (all in German, though): Homecomputermuseum

Andreea 21-01-2006 03:14 PM

I've got kickstart... but it is a ROM file - and I don't know with what program should I open it.
Then I got Amiga Emulation WinUAE and it says something about proprieties and I really don't know what to do.

Then... if I have all of these how will it help me to play Gadget? I remember I was playing it on PC... I didn't have Amiga then.

:tnx:

Scatty 21-01-2006 03:53 PM

In WinUAE's text-files should stand how you have anything to use. For example, you need to configure WinUAE either through starting it or editing the configuration files, so that it knows the exact path to Kickstart. I never used WinUAE but some emulators for NES or SNES so I think that's similar with them. Then you need to let WinUAE maybe know where your games are located, again through editing the configuration files or setting that in the main program.
Use your head a little, too, don't ask always for help, I'm sure you'll manage that.

_r.u.s.s. 21-01-2006 07:04 PM

i will repeat myself, but you can use lemonade
on http://www.lemonamiga.com/
it is winUAE based and it is just utility to make winUAE "user friendly"

sooo
if you click on LEMONADE button
then DOWNLOAD you can download lemonade(you can see there that winUAE is requied)

then you need gadget ROM file(its like an image from CD) and run that rom through emulator

When I say console. I mean all machines that allow video gaming.

Scatty 22-01-2006 08:08 AM

Well, then you can call the PC a console, too.

Bobbin Threadbare 22-01-2006 08:26 AM

Yes.
