Hey, i'm new here, so ill start off with posting some drawings. This one is a bizzare drawing i did a year ago in art class:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...r/cf106970.jpg

And this is a page with scribbles:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...hogor/mess.jpg

TheGiantMidgit 13-01-2006 03:30 AM

I commend you on your artistic prowess (especially liking the face in the sketch pad), and politely draw your attention to the "post new topic" button for future endevours.

Himmler 13-01-2006 02:24 PM

L o L ...i feel the same :D

C'mon don't be so drastic... he's just a n00b and he need to learn some basics... we'll teach him the way of the light and the "post new topic" button ;)

Bobbin Threadbare 13-01-2006 03:40 PM

Don't delete it. They're quite good. Split it and mak a "Modues's Drawings" thread.

Wolf Thug 13-01-2006 10:53 PM

WOW ...GOOD DRAWING DUDE

Tulac 13-01-2006 11:01 PM

Nice madness on the first picture :)

Modeus 14-01-2006 04:00 AM

Heh, thanks.
But what's wrong with replying in that other thread ?
I thought it matched the topic. But whatever.

That thread is the art gallery for the TheGiantMidgit drawings... it's like you entered in his home to hang up your pictures without his permission: that's not so kind

We excused you ust because you pics are so nice ;)

It seems that mathemathics has inspired you

And this is my mother's devilish cat:

And this is her pic filtered through photoshop (i just darkened under her eyes):

PS:
Sorry for posting in your topic TheGiantMidgit

TheGiantMidgit 14-01-2006 09:21 PM

Hey man, think nothing of it.

Sean 18-01-2006 10:24 PM

You have talent. I especially like the form you portray via tone. Show us more!

Modeus 18-01-2006 11:11 PM

Allright, here's a painting i did some time ago:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14.../stilllife.jpg
Old man's face drawn from fotograph:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...r/a0c98735.jpg
And a scribble:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...ogor/faces.jpg

Sean 19-01-2006 03:40 PM

That painting looks incredible I mistook it for a photograph at first

Your skills are brilliant, great work.

Quintopotere 19-01-2006 06:25 PM

Hey that old man seems really looking at me! :omg:

I like so much your scribbles :ok: They have "personality"!

TheGiantMidgit 19-01-2006 07:18 PM

Great painting, amazing use of colour, the only problem I saw was the perspective on the basket. Great sheen on the metal knife.

Reup 19-01-2006 08:28 PM

:kosta: :kosta: :kosta:

Tulac 19-01-2006 08:53 PM

Pretty good work...
You're an art student right?

Sean 19-01-2006 10:04 PM

Pretty good?

Understatement Tulac :P

Modeus 19-01-2006 10:06 PM

Thanks everyone for your comments :)
2TheGiantMidgit:
Yeah i let down on that basket really, my art teacher wanted me to hurry because we had 2 days til summer vacation.
EDIT: and while im at it, here's something i did in photoshop:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y148/Svethogor/DB.jpg

TheGiantMidgit 19-01-2006 11:02 PM

Ah, understandable... aesthetics should never really have a deadline, kills the quality.

Modeus 21-01-2006 06:07 AM

Here's some sketch i did in PSP with palette knife:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...gor/Image3.jpg

Quintopotere 22-01-2006 06:17 PM

Hummmm... erm...

Don't take me wrong, but it communicates me nothing.... :tomato:

Does it means something?

Modeus 22-01-2006 06:53 PM

Why, no...
It's just a sketch, it has no meaning whatsoever.

Himmler 22-01-2006 09:52 PM

oh...now i see it's a face :D

TheGiantMidgit 22-01-2006 09:55 PM

Oh, you wished to know the content, and not the meaning....

Himmler 22-01-2006 10:02 PM

yes...cause it's a sketch...i don't wanna see the rough ideea but the finished one :)

Bobbin Threadbare 22-01-2006 10:41 PM

Took me a while to figure out that it was a person.

Puffin 22-01-2006 11:15 PM

Really? Hehe i saw a face the moment i looked at it :P

Your stuff is pretty impressing, Modeus :) I like it a lot

I second that, I particularly like the old man's face and the painting, those are amazingly good :ok:

Modeus 15-02-2006 02:07 AM

This semester i have 2 art classes, so now all i do in school is draw :P

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...or/untitlo.jpg
^ My rough draft for some project i want to do, threw some ideas together here, and couldn't resist putting shading in...
I'm going to begin on the real thing tommorrow.

Spoonman 15-02-2006 06:25 AM

You should go work for a paper or something, very nice work :)

Modeus 02-03-2006 11:13 PM

Just several doodles i thought i'd add:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...gor/player.jpg

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...hogor/head.jpg

And this mysterious man in the hood i drew just now in MS paint:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...hogor/hood.jpg

Blood-Pigggy 04-03-2006 04:08 PM

Wow.
I love the style, you got your own thing going.

As for the dude in the hood, excellent use of a primitive tool, the spray utility in Paint certainly went a long way there.

Modeus 19-03-2006 02:51 AM

Thanks Blood-Pigggy

Today i made a little pen drawing, it symbolizes someone with big ideas but no opportunities. And here it is:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...ogor/ideas.jpg

_r.u.s.s. 19-03-2006 06:36 AM

i would presented ideas as something very rare or precious he holds, but can't use since he is bound.

but i REALY enjoy the idea and kneel down before you=)
:kosta:

TheGiantMidgit 19-03-2006 07:13 AM

Very good, nice shading style and good use of negative space.

troop18546 19-03-2006 10:26 AM

You really are an artist. Nice projects. :ok:

Sean 19-03-2006 10:31 AM

Lovely work :)

It's such a symbolic picture, fairly simple too.

Modeus 19-03-2006 03:37 PM

Heh thank you all :)
Sometimes i feel like drawing something symbolic.

Stebbi 19-03-2006 05:44 PM

I... am so jealous :tai:

Quintopotere 19-03-2006 06:27 PM

A very good drawing! So expressive... and I like the red shades :ok:

The only wrong thing could be the light bulb: it sounds a bit "foreseen"...

Blood-Pigggy 20-03-2006 12:06 AM

Excellent interpetation.
Complex enough to mean many things at once, and simple enough to be understandable at a glance.

And great shadowing, it looks so smooth, almost as if it wasn't done on paper.

Modeus 20-03-2006 12:27 AM

Thanks :)
I'm thinking of another one right now.

swiss 20-03-2006 06:07 AM

i really really appeciate your works. they are brilliant.

but I cannot help myself - I consider them all SCARY AS HELL. the way you make your drawings is a but psycho don't u think?

please do not take this wrong. Perfect art! Just a bit like this H.R. Giger guy. Good but frightening.

:ok:

Modeus 20-03-2006 08:53 PM

Thanks, and it's allright that you asked ;)
I guess it's popular nowadays to make your work so that it either shocks the viewer, or creeps the hell out of them. No wonder - it attracts attention. But that's only one part. If the works symbolizes something, some problem, the more scary you portray it, the more seriously the viewers will take it. It's like a whole new underground movement. I admire and am influenced a bit by artists such as Cmart, Kol-Belov, and Scarydoll. David Firth also uses that shock bit in his works, but i am not really a fan of his.

And on the last drawing, the deformed body just adds to the feeling, you know. (if that's what creeped you out)
Or maybe there's just something wrong with my head :D

Modeus 21-03-2006 11:34 PM

Ok, i recently took several pictures of my cat that i wanted to share (because she's unusually pretty), and decided this would be the best place to post.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...r/Snezhana.jpg

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14.../snezhana2.jpg

:)

Quintopotere 22-03-2006 08:04 AM

That's shocking to look at your beautyful cat after your freaking drawing :omg:

Anyway, she's so pretty  , what's her name?

Bieningana 22-03-2006 04:00 PM

You have a nice pussy... for sure!

I wonder if it's Siberian - I have one, and it's very similar (but black and male).

Modeus 22-03-2006 09:58 PM

Nope it's Angorian (sp?)
Not sure about the english spelling, i know how to spell it in russian though :)

Modeus 22-03-2006 11:41 PM

Well, i brought this drawing from my art class today in order to finish it, and decided to use the opportunity and post it.
Drawn from a photo by Neil Leifer, from some magazine.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...r/DSCN1259.jpg

Quintopotere 23-03-2006 08:38 AM

That's a good portrait!

Looking for something to criticize... ... The cigarette looks not so real and the eyes lack of "light" if you understand what I mean... :tomato:
I just wanna you reaching the perfection ;)

Modeus 23-03-2006 10:26 PM

Thanks :) And, it's not a cigarette - it's a chalk. But i admit there's a pile of mistakes, i was in a hurry to get it done, since i didn't really enjoy this particular portret, especially the hat :not_ok:

I also finished this pointless drawing that i did from my previous sketch, here it is:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...hogor/w00t.jpg

Blood-Pigggy 24-03-2006 12:51 AM

I have no clue what's going on but it's kinda funny.
You could be a cartoonist by the looks of that picture, but you're also a very good interpetational drawer.

Modeus 24-03-2006 02:04 AM

Yeah thanks, trying different styles, but i like doing serious stuff more.
I was looking for some type of anatomy for artists on the internet, but couldn't find anything good except those 60$+ books. Meh.....Is there anything free on the net these days ? :( I might just end up buying one of those then... Unless someone on the forum knows any good sites ^_^
I need to study muscle structure more...

Blood-Pigggy 24-03-2006 05:54 PM

Gray's Anatomy is the best to study for any kind of job.
Just make sure you get the one with the original illustrations.

If you're trying to study it for art, it'll work fine too, there are plenty of illustrations and explanations and functionings on how the muscles contract and expand as they move.
Once you get it in your head it's easy to imagine how muscles will bend and move when they're in certain positions.
Go try it out, I have the classics Copy (the best one there is) but any copy with the original illustrations and text work fine.

Modeus 24-03-2006 08:20 PM

Hmm, maybe i will. However, today i borrowed a good book from my art class teacher, it features all the muscles and bones, people in different position etc. So i will just draw all the figures from it, to rembmer.

Modeus 29-03-2006 01:28 AM

An enhanced picture i took while hiking.
I call it forest gate

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...gor/trees2.jpg

Modeus 01-04-2006 12:51 AM

I got something new again...
It didn't really come out the way i expected though. Here:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...or/destiny.jpg

Frodo 01-04-2006 02:32 AM

I like your half man \ half robot guy. It's really interesting seeing the 2 sides together like that. The robot arm is brilliant. :D

Your forest gate is lovely. It's so effective with the dark trees against the sky.
Lovely. :w00t:

Keep up the good work. :ok:

Himmler 01-04-2006 01:27 PM

the gate looks amazing

Modeus 01-04-2006 04:32 PM

Thanks :)

Sean 01-04-2006 05:48 PM

Very nice as always Modeus :)

Forest Gate is a really nice photo!

Robotguy just looks cool :D

Himmler 01-04-2006 09:20 PM

ok..now i got the idea on the half natural guy and his industrial half but i think you have some anatomy issues. nice theme

Modeus 01-04-2006 11:59 PM

I know the head is too sall. I wanted to correct it, but it was too late, since you know its in pen....

Blood-Pigggy 02-04-2006 01:01 AM

Your stuff is like Da Vinci level artwork! Considering this is hand-drawn, I think you have some incredible talent here, not only that, but your pictures have very interesting messages.
I love it, but as said before, the head is a bit small, but you've noticed that already, otherwise, it's great. Keep up the good work.

Modeus 02-04-2006 02:28 AM

LOL i'd make millions if i was anywhere close to Da Vinci :D
But thanks for the compliment ;)

Modeus 03-04-2006 01:49 AM

Ok so today i went hiking again, and guess what i saw ? That's right, an abandoned house. I adjusted contrast and hue in PS, but it was creepy enough in the beggining:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...hogor/dom1.jpg

Modeus 14-04-2006 05:25 AM

Well, today i drew this little thing....on a print size paper. Haven't decided what to call it....Would femme fatale fit ? I dunno...
EDIT: ok i decided ill call it predatress.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...gor/femme2.jpg

PS: i know it's sick ok ? Felt like it haha
PS2: edited a little.

TheGiantMidgit 14-04-2006 03:28 PM

Her leg anatomy is a little.... weird, man.

Modeus 14-04-2006 06:10 PM

Yeah i know it's intentional. I didn't want it to look....too normal.

Himmler 14-04-2006 10:33 PM

she looks like a greek godess

Quintopotere 15-04-2006 07:40 AM

:omg:

That's one of your best drawings, in my opinion!
So clean, evocative... and it remember me a girl... :eeeeeh:

I'm going to download it...

Edit: Have you got a pic of that in an higher resolution? Could you send me that? :kosta:

Modeus 15-04-2006 03:23 PM

Heh, thank you :)
That's the highest i have right now, it just came to me and i drew it on print size paper that was in my room on the table :P
Maybe later i could make another on bigger sheet.

Quintopotere 15-04-2006 06:42 PM

Can't you just scan it in a higher resolution? :tomato:

Modeus 15-04-2006 06:53 PM

Hmmm could try...don't know if it'll work though. But ill try, just for Quintopotere :P

Quintopotere 16-04-2006 11:22 AM

Ohh... in the Easter egg I've found that bigger version of your pic! :D

Thanks friend :ok:

Modeus 17-04-2006 05:18 AM

Ummm not really new, but rather redone version of my old introvert scrap.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...introvert1.jpg

Got rid of the crap in the background.....was useless anyway.

Modeus 01-06-2006 09:10 PM

Wooh has been forever !
This is an old drawing i did in the beggining of second semester, which i tweaked in PS yesterday.
It's just for the sake of creepiness.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...hogor/tree.jpg

PS: ok its kinda small i don't know why it got resized.

Blood-Pigggy 02-06-2006 01:10 AM

The image ain't coming up :tai:

Quintopotere 02-06-2006 08:27 AM

The drawing is good as always :ok: ...but I'm quite sure that there are better flters you could use (than a simple gradient, if I'm right)...
However I like the atmosphere you got!

Frodo 02-06-2006 11:52 PM

That's brilliant Modeus :w00t:

The upside down heads are really creepy. :ok:

heLL0 03-06-2006 01:48 PM

I like this. Nice artwork! :ok:

Modeus 03-06-2006 04:13 PM

Heh thanks ;)

Modeus 22-06-2006 08:11 PM

About time i did something new....
It was really hot here yesterday, and i couldn't fall asleep, so i woke up and started drawing.....Nothing came to mind, so i portrayed my situation.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...r/2c12c27d.jpg

Quintopotere 23-06-2006 03:14 PM

You look so... alien... :bleh:

A very good drawing! You know I like that style by you!

Well, maybe the shadow of the glass is a bit wrong...

Here's my new drawing - Greed:

EDIT: got the frame in.

Quintopotere 26-07-2006 04:28 PM

Oohh... another creepy-alien-awesome-drawing! :ok:

But you mistake the shadow on the right cause the hand shadow isn't superposed with the leg one... pay more attention the next time! :bleh: :whistling:
