Perhaps its a misunderstanding between Serial and Parallel IDE cables?
|
If you can afford it you should seriously get another laptop. You can buy a new or second hand old laptop (PII/PIII) for like 150-250 GBP easily.
If not, then you might want to ask the guy that sold you the cable to plug it in him/herself. |
There are HDD adaptors for mounting notebook HDD's into PC. If you can find one that works the other way round, it might _just_ work.

Damn Nation.
I think ill save up and get a tower thats really dodgy and so i acn fix that up. CLOSE THIS THREAD!!!!!!!! |
I've had a laptop and ditched it after a month... didn't do me any good and was hard to keep up to date with everything. Went back to a tower and a nice LCD screen... that's better and at least you know that you built it :)

nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dont do that! I have a 486 laptop I used to love when I was 12 as it happens (hey I wasnt 12 long ago.. 2 years ago) I almost chucked it away because the power supply doesnt work properly (if you knock the cable it cuts out) and the screen has got grey lines on and every now and again one of them freezes in the middle of the screen and the whole screen goes grey. why do I keep it? Its still got my old BASIC programs on :bleh: Atm im deperatly trying to transfer them to my PC along with other, choice old programs (card file anyone?) I thought I chucked the laptop away but now Im plesed I didnt, all those old programs mean a lot to me. if you er chucked it out, thats a shame... I doubt you can fit an IDE cd rom into an old laptop like that.. heh I almost bought a USB PCI card to fit in it LOL |
Javaguy: Wade won't be around to read this, sorry,,
|
