Why not ask them to replace the cd's?

MicroSoft don't like giving away years of work for free.

If you lost your CD, contact MicroSoft and they should send you a new one - with Windows you pay for the licence, not the CD.

That's true of just about all software - what do they care about 20 pence worth of disc when you paid them for the thing in the first place?

One option is to download it from the net, and use your original CD-key.
Atleast here, it's allowed to do like that, since it's effectivly the same software, that you own, and need a uniqe key to activate, that you own, and the key would not work for other versions then it was intended to do.

But as for downloading it, and use a cracked/serial-generator, that is granting you a free bullet to the back of your head.

I wonder why you can't find any Win98 ISO on the net... why that would be?

The Fifth Horseman 28-10-2005 09:25 AM

He just doesn't know how to search.

Rogue 28-10-2005 09:35 AM

Reason it's hard to find is that microsoft is doing excelent job on closing sites that offers it. (or any other M$ products)

If the site worked that would be classed as posting links to warez, as it is, the link doesn't work. The reason it doesn't work may well have been stated by Anubis earlier:

That site would be classed as warez because if someone downloaded Windows 98 when they hadn't bought the CD key in the first place, they've broken the law.

win98 28-10-2005 06:58 PM

i think the site is down

A. J. Raffles 28-10-2005 07:56 PM

Well, guess why.
