I'm talking about THESE RULES...
It's been happening quite a lot lately, that I've posted some links to old (not closed) threads about various things (Cats vs. Dogs as pets, your favourite villain,...), because there were so many things we have talked about here, that it not easy to open up a new thread without the subject being either completely useless, or talked about before...

The reason I'm bringing this up is simple - these rules say people should use the search button and look for old threads... But on the other hand there are people that don't like to see old/forgoten threads reopened, not to mention the fact, that new members can't know what we tlaked about before and should look in the older then 30 days posts anyway.

So should we change that rule, or inforce it more?

I've generally been posting the links to the old threads so people see other opinions/comments of members who maybe aren't even active, or just don't feel talking about it again, but I'm interested in your opinion about this.

I'm starting a new initiative of merging new threads into old threads of the same topic (it started when I merged swiss's new thread into Tom's old one).

:ok: Great job!

I guess this kindda answers the question.. If only more people would start doing this

In the Mod CP under Manage Your Forums (or something like that) rather than on the drop-down box.

I've got it in the drop down box, along with Move, Close, Edit Title and Spilt.

Woops, so it is. Well, maybe Danny just doesn't have that permission then.

moogle 15-09-2005 10:55 PM

I think Danny should, out of all the mods I think he monitors stuff the most, no offense, I mean you guys have to deal with the site and updates and all, maybe he should be the "modmaster" I think he does a pretty good job... :ok:

I'm sorry to interrupt you moddsih chatter, but most of us simple serfs don't have the ability to merge and reopen! (it would be absurd if we did, wouldn't it? :sneaky: )

Well I think Strobe and Wendy are the only two moderators who have/had the updating ability... And the updaters don't have the moderating ablity (woudln't mind it whough *hint hint* )...
I know the admins can put up news on the site and could update too - but only Kosta and Tom jump in from time to time...
So I think Danny is doing a great job with the moderating - as a part of the team, so I doubt he'd need a special "mastermod" title.
But maybe his title could change a bit - the poster from hell doesn't sound all that special (it sounds a bit spammy)...

Danny252 16-09-2005 03:19 PM

I can pin, unpin, open, close, move and delete topics. And edit/delete posts.
and instill fear. :P
I will now hold a competition. Whoever thinks up a new title for me.. uhm.. Just ask for a prize..

efthimios 16-09-2005 06:26 PM

That orange is creepy.

Skumpaq 16-09-2005 06:45 PM

Im assuming the drop down box is in the bottom left corner?

Danny252 16-09-2005 07:20 PM

ah, I had those powers on certain forums..
Tom has fixed it.
Ooh.. edit topic title..
