I'll try to remember to send you a card once I'm completely through with all my exams and all that. (Might take another month until I find time, though.)
Edit: Any preferences as to what sort of cards you like? |
Well, the idea was that everyone sent a postcard to everyboy who post the address!
|
I'll send cards, but there is no way in heck I'm posting my physical address
I'm sure it could be found, but I'd prefer stalkers have to actually WORK for it, as that's the point of stalking... :D I received a postcard from Kosta, too ^_^ With a dolphin on it, whee :D |
Ah, right. Well, I'm afraid I'm a tad too paranoid for that, but I'll try and send you a postcard anyway.
|
Hmm...this sounds fun! Wait for my card!
I want to receive cards too. A little card from a friend is a good surprise for a stress filled schoolday. Heres the address: Jesse Ojala(My name) Pitkä(A with two dots)katu 1 53420 Lappeenranta Finland |
You'll get a card from me soon (maybe even in person the next time I'm in Zagreb, which isn't too often, but still it happenes). :D
EDIT The Chosen can also look forward to my card (but the chances I'd go for a visit to Lappeenranta are very slim). BTW - here's my address: Borut Juriić Ormoka cesta 15 9240 Ljutomer Slovenija |
I don't feel safe about posting my address in a public forum, so anyone that wants to send a postcard to me will have to PM me.
.:EDIT:. I might send postcards to people. Maybe I'll even make a special postcard. |
Nice house...It took five days to get it here.....i´ll try finding something intresting for you too
|
:Brain: :Brain: :Brain:
I just recieved a postcard from Romano :tnx: - and say hello to Betty for me :sneaky: |

Thanks for the greetings Romano! And hopefully we will see each other in the near future!

:Brain:
I just received a postcard from Rainwife and Sebatianos from Ljutomer (in English it means Sharpmeter :tease: ) Here you are and be envious :sneaky: http://www.anarchy-movement.org/temp/ljutomer.jpg |
And here's the one I got from an ancient Roman... O :bleh: - from ZAGREB (meaning scratched... )
BTW - great idea posting cards here - maybe people will overcome their fear of giving out post addresses :ok: |
w00t! Got to be in the city now friday (9am, for some dumb-behind stuff, and's way too early), so I can post a card too (I don't trust the post office of my village. They tend to leave bills'n other urgent stuff laying 'round for a few weeks before delivering them)
Got a card, btw. Awesome building on it (The National Theatre from Zagreb). I can stare at it for ages and not get bored of it (then again, I've always been very fond of architectural art) :ok: |
<mental note: hum, must try to get some pretty postcards to send to these guys too :D >
|
May I send a letter instead of a post card?
All out of em. |

Would you like an e-card maybe, or i can get you a ordinary post card from Kalix....
|
I would like to get ordinary postcard with ordinary stamps... :max:
As Abandonia is some kind of games archives I will try to build some kind of Abandonia archives :) |
I just received the cards from Romano and Sebatianos (You were right, your handwriting sucks :D ).
Il be posting your cards soon. |
Sent my card today. Hope my handwriting's not too hard to decipher... I'm said to write terribly small (still's big to me, though), which gives alot of people trouble with it, it seems.
|
That is what I name escalation ;)
I got postcard from Kon-Tiki! Thank you! :Brain: I would like to have a walk along this nice brook !!! http://www.anarchy-movement.org/temp/betekom.jpg |
You mean that river, in the middle-down pic? That's the Demer, and the smell'll take away the will to take a walk along it in no time. When the weather's warm and we need to motivate our kids at Scouts to actually walk during a walking activity, we tend to take waterguns and load them up with water from that river. They get motivated quickly, either when they realize it's water from the Demer, or when they smell it. At least it's getting better, though. Back in my granddad's days, they did running races on it, and back in the '90s, I've known 'bout somebody falling in it and coming out with second-degree burns. Nowadays, there ought to be eels in there, and it just smells. Friend of mine dropped into it a few years back, and only thing he had, was that he reeked for a week.
Ehmm... I'm rambling now  To make it short: It may look nice, but get too close and your nose'll rebel. |
OMG! I forgot about this! Sorry Sebbe.
@Aus users mainly: Do you know if they's sell postcards at newsagencies? |
I got a card from Zagreb! :w00t:
Thanks Romano :ok: http://img82.imageshack.us/img82/2571/kaart0ix.png I put your card on the mail a couple of days ago, so it should be well on it's way by now  Oh, and in my memory he never mentioned it :P |

I got a postcard from TheVoid :Brain: It is Venice of course. Very fancy. The University where our new updater will stay for a couple of next years is on the opposite side of Canal Grande and little bit less fancy :bleh: |
Sorry for double posting but I got another potcard :Brain: :Brain:
It is from Doubler. I have sent him snowed Zagreb and he reply with Friesland (brrrrrrrrrrr) |
 I got no more cards... I envy you Romano
:D |
I'll send you a card, Seb :)
And maybe you could send me one? |
Sure thing. I'll send to anyone who gives me the address (Sent out 3 cards already).
|
I just got a snail-mail, I just got a snail-mail :tease:
It's from A.J. |
Legoland !? :omg:
Very nice, indeed ! |
Cool :) Maybe I'll send a card (you'll have my adress when you'll get my card), although I usually don't do such things to complete strangers. I'm sure abandonians are nice enough though
|
Quote:
Anyway - if I get your address you're sure to get a card from me :ok: |

Your card should be on its way, too, by the way. Maybe it takes a bit longer to Croatia... |

I hate it when that happenes, expeciaklly when you can remember every number but one, thats so annoying LOL |
If anyone wants a postcard from me, please PM me :)
I'll send out up to 5 + Romano's before I leave for Europe... I'm not exactly certain where I'm supposed to get a postcard representing my town... it's kind of dinky  |
We could give away exclusive postcards when you get here, hon
A postcard from the weirdest couple on the site. Hmm... do you think people will sell them on eBay? |
Weirdes couple... just remember, you said it not I
|

 Anyhoo, I thought that since most people here are European, they might prefer American.... Heh. *ahem* Hmm, well perhaps it is best to wait til I get there :P |
Talking about exclusive, I think I'll be making a 'handmade postcard' this weekend to send, I just found some nice scenery photo's in my collection :)
|
Below you will find capital selection of pure Gothic !
A.J. Raffles sent me a postcard :D and I am in trouble now since I do not know how to replay :( (no address). Anyway thank you :Brain: |

I'm ashamed to say I haven't found a card for you yet, but I promise you you'll get one very soon :ok: http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/6991/kaartseb5aw.png What does that line at the top mean, by the way? :) And it's a very nice card, by the way. No way storks are boring! And that house looks quite distinctive, too. |

Yes, Raffles you are paranoid :bleh: :tomato:
Ah, but you're forgetting that in some countries you don't have semesters to begin with, so there can be no such thing as a "spring semester", obviously. Anyway, I KNOW I'm paranoid, so there's no need for you to keep telling me, Mrs Holton.:bleh: Oh, and Happy Birthday! By the way, a friend of mine squealed with delight when she spotted Sebatianos' card on my desk this afternoon. For one horrible second I thought she was going to reveal herself as Danny252, but it turns out that she'd been working for a bank (I think) in Slovenia for a couple of months and absolutely loved it. Slovenia, that is, not the bank.:D |
LOL, hats.. uh.. not so funny, infact
Im expecting mail any day now :P |

I had a spring semester at Washington and Lee University... we had 12 week long fall and winter semesters, and then a 6 week spring semester in which we took less classes, but twice as often. Okay, maybe not at Oxford, but they do in fact exist! :D |
Oh yes there are spring semesters, and summer one toos heres, had to take one last year for a class only lasted through may, but technically called a spring course, that's the time when the college prob gets most of it's money they love to overcharge ya like terribly on the courses they offer, *remembers 400 some for course not including books <_<

BTW - Which bank did she work for? |
Can't remember, but I'll ask her when I see her this afternoon.
|
I was just certain that Raffles was going to point out that the Latin root of semester means "six months," so the concept of a "spring semester" is fundamentally flawed, because spring doesn't last for six months no matter where you live. Although I'm somewhat disappointed, I recognize that this is prescriptivism taken to an unrealistic extreme, so perhaps I should hold Raffles in higher regard for not doing such a thing, regardles of how tempted she may have been. :bleh:

The only thing they care about is that they call other people dumb online for misspelling a word, then misspelling "misspell".
:ot: Sorry to be getting this even further off-topic, but really, Piggy, but what exactly was the point of that comment? FPJ is certainly not an insanely picky scholar, as you seem to be implying. He just happens to care about spelling and grammar, and there's nothing wrong about that. If you ask me, more people ought to be picky about the sort of English they write, really... |
Quote:
If you ask me I was being sarcastic and silly, but it seems that for the past two months you haven't realized my more "outlandish" behavoir, disregard any comments you see as not up to your standard. And my post really didn't have less of a point than FPJ's, so there's no reason to be hypocritical and chastise me for making off topic posts while you yourself were doing the same previously. In other regards, take what I say more lightly, and don't take it into consideration too much, or you'll be overdoing it, as most people seem to do in certain cases. And as for the spelling and grammar thing, there's really no need for over extensive accuracy in a online board simply existant for discussion between individualy beings, as it was being discussed before, it's purpose was undeniably needed because the discussion about "semesters" was in progress. In a more on topic side - I'm too nit-picky about giving my address out, and what would my parents think if I get a post card from some place off in Norway or England? |
This topic kinda hits the undying wish I have of visiting all the places in the world, and even the one of living in most of them as well.
You're all evil! |
Quote:
That's two very nice and elaborate sentences that you have there, but they don't make any sense to me, I'm afraid. You may have misunderstood my point there (and I am being serious about this): When I said people ought to care more about how they write, I didn't mean they ought to write like a thesaurus and make lavish use of punctuation marks. But it's very easy to become sloppy about your language in a medium like this, and sloppiness about how you write is simply a bad habit. Yes, the sole purpose of forums like this one is to be a platform for people to communicate, but you will run into situations where you have to communicate with people outside internet forums (even if it's just a job application), and then you'll be struggling with those bad habits you picked up. But suit yourself. Well, your parents would probably just think that you've put your name on one of those chain letters. Or joined some weird foreign postcard-cult, perhaps.;) |
If I may contribute once again to the off-topic side of this conversation, Raffles is right; I'm not an insanely picky scholar, but I do care about spelling and grammar. However, I don't care about these things simply for the purpose of needling people; I'm interested (on an amateur level) in the English language and its history. I like finding out information about the origin of a particular word or phrase, especially one that I've used for ages without really thinking about it. (WordOrigins.org is an excellent website for this sort of thing, if I'm not the only one.) An appreciation for correct spelling and grammar goes along with that interest.
I also agree with Raffles' other point: communication is a necessary part of life for social creatures (which we are), and a solid grasp of the mechanics of your language will help you to be an effective communicator. One more note: I have a great deal of respect for those of you who speak English as a second (or third or fourth or...) language. It's the only one I speak, so if I ever make a derogatory remark about your skills with the language, feel free to put me in my place. |
I appreciate some of the great English I got to read on these pages, especially because English is my second/third language. What a treat this was and what an interesting discussion. Spelled or misspelled. Although I also get pretty notorious about spelling and grammar myself (ask Kosta  ). Thanks for the site connection on etymology.
Thanks for the few good laughs too. To continue on the topic, I am in the country where post service doesn't exist, and postcards (not greeting cards) can be bought only in places that are a mix of a museum and a galery. The postcards are in most cases from 70s, maybe 80s, or even before those (ancient :D) times. I would love to send or all of you a postcard from Kinshasa in DR Congo, not to mention how thrilling would it be to receive some. It is so good to know a post office is there, although you may never want to use it to send mail. Now I understand why. Three months ago my family sent me a birthday card - never saw it. :help: Snail-mail is great!! |
Hmm.. still no mail.. *checks with mum*

Yes, sorry, I was having a bit of an essay crisis... You'll get one, I promise.

but i intent to send some... just don' t know when  and i' ll send you one too, miss Raffles, if you pm me your address (and no, I'm NOT mrs Holton :bleh: ) @ Ines: if you pm your address to some of the people here, you might get some too  and maybe you could "create" your own postcards from some local photos (or maybe this is just a silly idea :tomato:) |

Haha, the mail system is slow...
Finally got Romano's postcard. I'll scan it and upload later, when I get the computer with the scanner. I'll won't send a reply just yet, firstly seeing as I'll only manage to get to a mailbox tomorrow and they don't do post on Sundays, and secondly because I'd like to send more than one at once. I'll be able to send some on Tuesday afternoon, by which time I hope I'll have more cards. His postcard has doubled my mail! Today I got my magazine and his card. |

They won't use train, they've stopped using postal trains here in the UK recently. Of course us train fans still put them in our simulations...
Edit: Heres the card |
I also got a card from Romano today! :Brain:
Can't scan it until I get home, though.:( |

@Danny: that' s why this was called "Snail mail"... compared to e-mail, these ones moves at the speed of a snail :bleh:
Yes, Miss Raffles, I had lunch with Mrs Holton today LOL And, I let my lazyness by side and finaly bought you guys and girls some postcards... My taste sucks, so they probrably aren' t as pretty as they should be (sorry) So they will be posted tomorrow (Monday), and depending on the "snails speed" (I expect Portuguese snails to be the best and win this little race) I guess you' ll be receiving them soon :D |
I think the snail died... nothing for me today...

BTW - Danny, I think it takes at least a week to 10 days for cards to travell by snail-mail. I think I got Romano's in about 4 days. I'd reach Zagreb (where Romano lives) from Ljutomer (where I live) in less then 4 days if I walked the distance (it's only about 80 miles). So snail mail really has the speed of a snail (yet it's still much faster then it used to be...). |
Apparently it took a week for the card I sent Romano to arrive, and I send yours only a couple of days ago, Danny. Have patience :max:
By the way. Sebatianos, I posted your card at the same time as Danny's. It should arrive soon too :) |
I might delay my reply-sending until Sunday. I dont fancy having to walk to the mailbox, so might as well deliver it when going past in a car...
|
give me one good reason to waste my time in mailling you a post card?!
what ever good luck with it LOL |
It would just be nice to get a post-card from a far off country.
Just doing it for the fun, and to get cool post-cards for free. |

You'll get cards from far-off places you might not even be able to find on a map, and to the people who wrote those cards, the place where you live will seem equally exotic. It's a bit like those chain-letters that used to be so popular. But suit yourself.:) |

Im hoping for mail tomorrow... |
I might send you a Christmas card, but don't bother sending one back, my parents are sort of paranoid about this winternet lark.

Haven't you heard? The snail flu doesn't exist anymore.
The carrier snail infected with the snail flu needs thirty-four days to reach the snail convention, the incubation period for the snail flu in twenty-eight days. So the snail got infected and died while still on the way, being unable to contaminate the snail comunity (which remains flu free). But the French are in danger of being infected with it, because the dead snail ended up in a snail salad the very evening of his death (being dead prevented him from fighting off people who wanted to eat him). Anyway - because of the bird flu there are no more carrier pigeons (that's also the real reason why the modern mail service is called the snail mail), they replaced the pigeons with snail, because they can't spread empidemics. Now you know  |
Cheers! now I know why cross-channel post takes so long! They have to pass the letters onto sea-snails which are amazingly rare in the channel!
I learn something about chocolate and snails in one day! Excellent! |
Yay! 2 cards today! Doubler's card, depicting.. his school..
And Sebatianos/Rainwife's card, depicting Ljutomer. Including broken link. |
Nope, depicting a town nearby

Thats Doublers and Seb/Rainwife's
|
Yay! More cards! Today I got Raffles ^_^
I'm going to be sending my cards today (Well, my mum will, seeing as she's going shopping  ) Oddly, AJ's writing looks like mine.. Uhm, seems I dont have Raffles Adress  |
Oops, I'll PM it to you.
I got Shrek's card today! :w00t: Edit: Grrreat, I have the handwriting of a thirteen-year-old... |
LOL.
|
Quote:
Great snail I got there :bleh: |
Yay, Shrek's got here too!
|
YES... my snails are the best... (well at least they are the best swiming throw the channel :P )
3 already get there, another 3 on their way (Romano, Sebastianos and TheChosen) PS: sorry, no stamps in my cards... stamps are sold in some "weird" machines here, that only accept the "exact change"... so when the dumb machine asked for "0,57", I just thought "WTF, where am I going to find 5, 2 and 1 cent coins?"... so I just went to the post office guy and delivered him the cards, he passed them throw another machine "et voilá".... mail sent :bleh: |
Exact change for 0.57 stamps? Yeah, right. I bet that's just a way the Portuguese postal service is trying to get rich. They don't WANT to put up machines that give change. It would interfere with their Evil Plans...
|
According to brilliant A.J. Raffles definition "Home is where the scanner is" we can logicaly conclude that only Danny252 is at home, because only he attach scanned postcards.
Where are the others :ranting: |
Our scanner doesn't work, but I'll try to get a pic of it.
|
Woo-hoo I just came home and a letter was waiting for me (and it wasn't a bill or a comertial). When I opened it there was a post-card inside (yes, a postcard inside an envalope). It was from SHREK :tnx:
http://www.abandonia.com/~sebatianos/Lisboa.PNG |
He really does seem to employ racing snails.:D
|
Yes indeed. Shrek employ hurdler snail :w00t: Yes, I got postcard. :Brain:
Now you can compare old and new part if Lisboa ! |
I think Shrek deserves a special title for this - The Speedy Snail-Gaucho (or something) - what do you say admins?
|
@Raffles: I wouldn't mind a postcard from Oxford, as someone previously received, :D
P.S. Do you know of Mark Haddon, who wrote "The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night-Time"? |

I want to send a postcard, do anyone want do recieve a postcard from me :D ?
Just post and give me your adress (eg per pm) :D One nice of Cologne is OK :bye: ? (I'll try to find such a card, but this won't be a problem, 30km to Cologne :D ) :ok: :ok: :ok: |
@ Shrek - thanks for the card - I especially love the casstle of Saint George, since I did my english diploma paper on the subjects of dragons and amog others the saint geroge legend:)
:ok: :bye: |
OK, I'm on standby with a pile of postcards and a pen, if you want one, and your address isn't in this thread, PM me your address.
|
And do not forget to put your address on that postcard or PM me ;)
|
I probably won't be doing that. I can imagine my parents' reaction when I start receiving postcards from people on a forum which they think I spend far to much time on anyway ;) Maybe at a later date though.
|
Somebody mentioned I could maybe send postcards - I know it would be interesting to get one from DR Congo - BUT
1. post office here is hopeless 2. no stamps are available 3. only diplomatic mail and DHL are available To do a postcard with Kinshasa would mean the use of camera. Unfortunatelly, no luck with that one too. If spotted by a police or military, the use of camera can put you to jail - kind of trying to avoid that experience. I did take a few photos of Kinshasa from a building where I used to live - with throw away camera (really bad quality) - and if you're interested I can scan and post them on the site upon my return to Zagreb. Sorry, no mail from here. :bye: |
Can put you to jail ? Jesus Christ. :Jesus:
|
I sent Raffles and Shrek's cards today. Can't take too long!
|
Sebatianos, you should've recieved my card by now. Have you?
|
Weird :eeeeeh:
I'll check with the post office. |
Quote:
@ Ines: I' m the one that sugested that, sorry that things stand like that in there (looks like humans rights don' t exist there) @ Rainwife: you' re welcome, glad you liked it :D @ Danny: did you use the same snail i sent you, or did he died of "exaustion" after delivering your card? :tomato: @ robotangel: I can PM you my address if you PM me yours @Doubler: I also don' t have your address (oh, I must buy more postcards  ) |
@Doubler:
I forgot it's a two day holiday here, so I won't be able to check before Wednesday. |
Here's D'ni's card:
http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/7124/card32am.png Thanks. And a belated hi from the cats here :D @Sebatianos: Ok. My snail seems to be particulary slow... @Shrek: I'll PM it to you :) |

I got a card from Danny today.:Brain: His sorry excuse for his bad handwriting (which is NOTHING like my bad handwriting, by the way) was that he had written it on horseback during his riding lesson. Or something like that.:P
|
ahem. I was in the car to riding.
Roads are surpisingly bumpy. My writing is usually better than that :P |
Yay! :Brain: :bannana: :band: :guitar: :tnx: :guitar: :band: :bannana: :Brain:
just got Danny's postcard today http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/3228/dannycard8kd.png Yay! thank you very much :ok: |
No problem shrek :P
|
@Doubler - sorry, but still nothing. I checkjed at the post office and they will start looking for it - they have sent out a search message (trying to trace the route back). We'll see in a few days, but with postcards the chances of finding one are really slim (if it were a personal letter signed in for they'd have to keep track of it, but now...).
|
Expect mine soon Seb ;)
Unless some is eating up all postcards due for Ljutomer... |
Our popular member Danny252 find some time... AND SENT ME A POSTCARD :Brain:
You can see the oldiest iron bridge in Britain and you will be surprised in which town is it placed... in Iron Bridge :) Thank you Danny :tnx: |
Hmm, is that Danny sitting on the bench with his grandparents?
|
Well, seeing as my only living grandparent is in Sweden..
The bridge used to be flat, but over 230 years or so the valley has sagged, causing it to be.. pointy! |
Quote:
|
Well, see, the middle, it is a very small point where the bridge has physically bent. And they have done reconstructive work every so often ;)
|
He-hey :Brain: , just got two cards today (probably because tehre's two of us here - me and Rainwife).
http://www.abandonia.com/~sebatianos/doubler.PNG and http://www.abandonia.com/~sebatianos/Danny.PNG Thanks guys! @Shrek - finally your card is in the mail (sorry it took us so long to send one - hopefully it will arrive soon). |
Yay! :Brain: :bannana: :band: :guitar: :tnx: :guitar: :band: :bannana: :Brain:
just got another postcard today, it's from Romano http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/4...anocard8xo.png Wow, thank you very much. @Doubler: I' m sorry, I still haven't sent your card, :tai: but I 'll do it tomorrow. My "super-speed snail" should get there before the end of this week  |
I'm still waiting for Raffles' card, :D
Might not be here for awhile. |
Quote:

It'll be fantastic.
Now quick! Use these five minutes and write that card! |
Quote:
... Oh no! I just found Shrek's card lying on my desk.:omg: Í'd forgotten all about it. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Sorry, Shrek. I'll try and get a stamp for it first thing tomorrow.:tomato: |
Shrek, don't worry. Take your time :)
|
i´m  , nobody send me a postcard.........i´m really said.... :SPAM:
|
Quote:
and, don't worry Miss Raffles, I' m not going anywhere  |
@little fish: I have postcard at my desk and pencil besides. If I have your address...
|
A funny thing just happened. I got a call from the post office, saying they couldn't find the card that Doubler sent (the one that was presumably lost and that they said they'd start a search for). They said it's hopeles and that they won't be able to find it if it had no return address - well I got the card a few days ago (see previous posts), but they obviously didn't even know
so the search obviously didn't include the postman's bag (it was there two days after they started searching) and it ended up in scaner (after being delivered). :D |
Quote:

:P
Anyway, I'm glad it arrived. Mine is the Slowest Sssnail on Abandonia, I'm affraid. |
Well...Now all that is missing is some stamps...Then it will be on it´s way!!
|
I was approached by a snail today, and he handed this over to me:
http://img387.imageshack.us/img387/6...rdshrek3hs.png Thanks Shrek :ok: Yours will be underway soon. Nice bridge you got there, by the way :kosta: |
I spent more than half an hour queuing at the post office this morning in order to get a stamp for Shrek's card. Oh well, at least I've got it now.:)

Quite a repetoire of colleges! Sadly, I don't have a scanner, but I'll try to take a picture with my digital camera. AJ, your handwriting is a bit difficult to read, :D , but I did understand everything you wrote. |

I've noticed, but don't worry, your cursive is quite refined. :ok: |
So, the ladies at the post office are slower than my snails :roflol: and you wasted more than half an hour to get a stamp for my card? wow! :kosta: :kosta: you deserve this
Doubler: Since you liked "our" bridge, let me show a picture taken from the time it was being builded (sometime aroud 1960) http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/561...o20tejo2ij.jpg |
yes, i received a post card by romano, :w00t: i´m very happy . Your will be send soon.

Rainwife and I just recieved a really scary post card from Tom and Tai (I mean really scary - that's an ancient dentist's office) *runs and tries not to let everbody know about his unnatural fear of dentists*
Now if only we could write back to you... I know I'm missing something to make it happen... Money for the card? Got it. Stamps? No problem, can get them any time. *think* :wall: Address - that's the one. Can you PM me your addresses? Thanks for the kind words (and I hope the two of you find the happiness we found). :ok: OK - here's the card (sacry  ): |
:D
That office is less than a 5 minute walk from my house, and you can sit in the chair if you want. :ok: |
Wow, that was a very, very big surprise :Brain:
I got a postcard from :tai: and :Tom: !!! :kosta: I think, this building with two towers is University of Trondheim. By night  |

A.J's a bit shy, so don't sit and wait for hers.
If she sends you a postcard it'll have her address on, though. |
Quote:
|
As you said earlier in this topic that you're shy and wouldn't give out any information like this. (I think...)
Plus everyone's sent you back postcards. That's just me assuming everything though :( P.S. By the don't sit and wait bit, I was referring to your address PMed, not the postcard. Sorry about that. |
Actually, if you have to know, I did PM my address to a few people. But I didn't write my address on the postcards because I couldn't possibly have squeezed it on there...
Which reminds me: I HAVE to write that card to Shrek. When I've done my Middle English essay, OK?:tomato: |
Quote:
( LOL just kidding, take your time, like I said, I'm not going anywhere - I don't have time to go anywhere  ) |

Hura!!!
I just got a card from Kotor. Just the thing to make me feel better while watching the snowflakes falling outside... |
Man, what's in that water? It's greener than the trees!
|
I guess my scaner screwed it up a bit (the water should be deep green - the color of clear clean sea water with vegetation inside). I'll try rescaning it.
|
Look like 16bit or 256 colours... maybe thats why. I have the same boat on my card (but different otherwise) and its less green-y

And that is not all :w00t:

how can snail mail die? How will people get there Ebay stuff? LOL That and a ebirthday card seems like crap compared to a real one you send. Mby cause its something you can touch and feel not some code on the screen.
|
Hehe, I got a greeting card from Zagreb as well (it's from the Krauths: Romano, Ines and Betty - the cat *knew she was smart*).

Hm, it's been a long time since anyone posted here... I think this one should stay alive.
|
That's against that stupid rule, you know :sneaky:
Well you won't hear me complain. |
Quote:
Could you explain what you are talking about :D |
This rule. It only creates chaos.
Quote:

Oh....youre one of those who actually read the rules arent ya?

Well, if I didn't do THAT I would have 600 posts by now.

Anyways,I would provide adress, but I just cant remember postal code! I dont remember I used it for anything anyways... |

Keeping this alive also keeps the realer-then-on-line spirit of abandonia alive. If that brakes the rules - I guess it's worth it. :ok: |
Ooh you got the postcard! We thought it had been lost in mail! Sweet!
:bye: |
He-hey, I just got a greeting card from Stephan who's German, but isn't Swiss, even though he's swiss!
|
I am jealous. :tomato:
But I am happy that this topic is still alive :ok: |
Well, maybe swiss could post the wrappings of the chocolates he got (if he hadn't eaten them all yet - I think they're all gone by now) in return.
And don't worry Romano, he got far less chockolated then you got cheese :D |
I hope chocolates were of the same excellence as the cheese was :kosta:
|
:tnx:
Now this was really an unexpected and most pleasent surprize! When I picked up the mail from the mailbox there was a very cheerfull looking envalope in it. When I opened it there was an even more cheerfull looking card inside. It says: Dear Sebatianos & Rainwife, many congratulations on your marriage. May you both have a very happy and long life together with mutual respect and love for each other. Signed by Ruben aka Reup and Mirjam. I couldn't scan the inside of it, because it's a cute pop-up card with mice, a teddy bear and a birdy wishing us all the best, but here's the cover of it! Again Reup, I'm deeply touched and I'm sure Mojca will be too, when she sees it. Thank you! |
Sorry for the long delay!
Here's the card Romano and Ines sent us (during their 1st of May holliday) :kosta: |
