i think that this game is the best from this big koei game upload. koei almost create complicated strategy games in the good old days. :ok:
wers mag, für den isses dat höchste. good games at all! |
Good god, probably the worst of KOEI games. It looks nice on screenshots, but it's absolutely terrible.
|
Why do you hate it?
|
It's a good game, but the best...The AI is not challenge (except the Berlin mission- Hardest diff(Axis)/ France- Hardest(Allies)). But if you have a friend to play with :)
Then you could enjoy the game. (If you are looking for a turn based- WW2 strategy I recommend you Panzer General). :D p.s.: I'm sorry for the mistakes in my post(s), but my English isn't very good :-) |

I've only played the SNES version and it was pretty poor. AI wasn't too good, the combat engine seemed to be the same one used in NA and RTK with a few new features tacked on. Worst of all the AI would ALWAYS place it's HQ in the 1st Unit of the 1st Division so one successful Special Ops attack and all their units are without orders.
|
I just tried it briefly...I need to try it more I guess so far I have a problem getting into it compared to most KOEI games
|
The SNES version of this game was the first strategy game I ever played. Two-player is definately the best way to play.
Always wanted to play the PC version but I'm having problems getting it to work on my machine. What the hell does "Unable to play MIDI-the Maestro FM Synthsizer is in use by another application" mean? Also can't seem to make a boot disk. |
Also getting an ingame "not enough free memory" warning after it asked for mouse or keyboard control. Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?
|
I think the sega genesis version is the best. the SNES one has an horrible sound effects in battle
|
good game. thank that koei was born to do strategy games. :w00t:
all of you said strategy is simple and easy. think this way. it is 12 years old game. |
Anyone knows were can I download the manual? I ve been looking for it but without positive results....
Thank you! |
|
Thank you, horseman. I took a look at the page and the manual is being aproved. When I played the DOS version, I also got the same msg: not enough free momry, but I tried it in another computer and worked perfectly, I don´t know why....
|
if you run via windows, right click the excutable and in properties, memory tab select automatic for ems and xms memory
|
One of my favorites. That game was my first step in strategy games.
|
So, according to wikipedia, the axis powers have rockets in the storming of normandy. Anybody know how to do that?

You need to get a dos emulator like Dosbox. The exe files won't run on modern windows. Once you've installed dosbox, put a shortcut to it in the game folder, then drag and drop the main exe file onto it. That should run the game.

Downloaded dosbox.74 shortcut on desktop. dragged the shortcut over to the Europe file and now there is a file Dosbox .74 in list of Operation Europe. Dragging main.exe over to dosbox has no effect. What is next? |

OK, got it to work, but the screen is tiny and is there a manual? |
Use Alt-Enter to go to full screen and back. If we haven't got a manual you might try googling the game and looking on other sites. I don't know if replacementdocs is still a good source.
EDIT we do have the manual; look on the game page. It's under the link to this forum thread. "Discuss this game here". |

Did you ever get the game to work? I have everything figured out except how to make the battle work on the small screen. I have played it on snes, but dont know how to make it work on laptop. Just need to know how to give orders. |
