International Karate + [NON-PC]
:help:
Hmmm....I've had problems finding this game on the net...but it was a old amiga game, where you would have 3 karati guys on the screen at once, side view, street fighter style, and it was every man for himself...was the most fun ever, and i would love to play it again...Does anybody remember this game? / Know where to get it? |
It's been remade on the Gameboy Advance several times, making it not abandonware. Try that avenue.
|
as far as i know, it IS abandonware! at least IK, i'm not sure about IK+, though...
too bad i have no 5,25' floppy drive in my pc, because i have ik+ in original disks lying in my basement... :D EDIT: i was partly wrong: ik+ (aka international karate advanced) was not published for pc! only international karate, the "basic" version. the "+" version was/is available for c64, amiga, atari and amstrad. |
Hi. I've been looking for this old game called IK+ (International karate +) And I'm not talking about the usual international karate but the one called international karate + where you fight 2 guys at once and there's bonus level where you block heads and balls with a shield. Does anyone know where I can get it?
|
wasn't that one for C64? I've found an International Karate ++ here, but I don't understand the site, it's polish.
|
Is there a dosbox version of IK+ cause the flash version is just to damn hard :P
|
get WinVice and find the c64 rom. best way to go about playing it on your computer
|
There's a pretty good remake at http://www.poke53280.de (Downloads -> International 64k-rate). It captures the atmosphere of the original (the superior Amiga version) pretty well, and it works great on Windows.
EDIT: The site is in German, but the game itself isn't. |

Wow, pretty cool game, even though it's a remake it's fun. The only thing I miss now is the bouncing heads that you block with your shield :P

Well - you might be able to get the game from our site soon. We got it and it's ready to upload - but we have a policy of not adding 4 color CGA graphic games (at least no more of them). But I hope some of us will be able to persuade the man in charge to make a few exeptions.
|
If you looking for original - real game, try amiga version. Can't help you with link, as it's against rules of this site.
I play only GBA version, which is closest to original Amiga version. I believe that classics should be uploaded, but some of ports, like this one are so bad, that hardly anyone will play it. Even C64 version was better then PC port. LOL |
Well that's the case with most games made before 1988/89. Take an example of Defender of the crown - C64 version has better graphics - better sound and is just simply put better!
But in the ninties PC games started catching up (Amiga was still way ahead). Those were the days my friend... |
To bad that Amiga did not make it in to 3D and 32bit. They were making new video chip (AGA 2) at the time company was sold out.
With new 3D chip, and superior sound that computer would have games better then play station. (It would be like PS with keyboard and hard disk) I still play some games from time to time on emulator, and they are still much better or at least equal to play to those on PC. Games like Reunion, Settler, UFO, Colonization, Superforg,... Yes, those were the times... LOAD "*",8,1 |
International Karate +
I've found a Flash remake of IK+ at a website, but i was wondering if it is possible to find the original game elsewhere? Playable in a Dos-box etc...

International Karate +
[INVALID] because there is no DOS-Version. But you can play International Karate on Abandonia. |
That's true, but in an Amiga emulator, like WinUAE or something...
I have this Amiga-joystick connected by the USB-port, so all i need is the game. |
