to all abandonians who are interested in painting and drawing:

i thought about a little art project which could be quite enjoyable and funny
if enough ppl decide to participate.

the pattern is fairly simple:
first of all, all persons who want to join this project are being listed in a posting.
someone starts a painting/drawing. it doesn't matter if it is drawn by hand and
scanned afterwards or if it's started digitally. as soon as the initial artist is ready
with his/her part the result, a pm is written to one of the other listed participants
who is to go on with the painting. after this person finished his contribution, the
next person is being selected by pm to continue and so on, until all participants
have done a part of the artwork. each person who has finished a part is either
able to do another part later on or decides to stay off until the artwork is finished.

in the end, the result is presented to all other abandonians for a final review.

Just what I said. Will turn the picture into animated scene with some painting and gif aniamtor. Might even use it in my game. Will also make a non-aniamted one that can still be edited by the other artists.

Well heres the editable one. When the animation is done will post it here also.
Added a path.
Put contour and shadowing on the mountains.
Gave more colour to the castle and added a spectre and another bat to it.
put some dried blood under the druids bad eye and gave him a snarl
Put Freddy in this picture cause I just love adding him to stuff
Put something hiding in the snow in the path :sneaky:

we shouldn't overdraw elements of the picture, which have been created
by other participants, as you have done with danny's moon.

adding new details into certain parts is just fine, though.

it's not that i want to be too restrictive, but for the sake of cooperation
any contributed piece to the image shall be basically left untouched, unless
we all decide to alter it...

otherwise we run the risk of 'destroying' effords ppl made with their
contributed parts.

i hope you got my point. plz correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm sorry. In my effort to create a scary cool gothic setting, I forgot that this is a team effort. Everyone whos worked hard on some of the stuff, like the star and moon, forgive me. :cry: BTW strobe said I could change the tree if I wanted.

the filter "diffenrence clouds", afterwards i altered the levels of shading and
the colouring. there are a lot of tutorials about this on the net.

I didn't have much time so I added very few things, don't know why I even bothered...
-I added a spider hanging from a tree
-changed the color of wizard's tooth from grey to golden
-added a head of a sorcerer on one of the castle windows

...I think there is still much work to be done on this picture, and that it cannot get stuffed, the more details it has, the more interesting it is... :whistle:

quite microscopic changes, bohor... if you had not declared what you've done,
i wouldn't have noticed....sorry, don't get me wrong, i have bad eyesight :D

Didn't do much with it but here. Added a shoggoth in the front. Added fire coming out of the dragons mouth. Added a lake monster. Made the wizards eye green and gave him a cut with blue blood suggesting he is secretly a shoggoth.

it's good that our project finally starts to be continued again! i really was
afraid that noone is interested in keeping it alive anymore...

i'm quite busy in finishing a portfolio for appointing for a job, recently, so
until the next weekend i most probably won't be able to draw anything new.

but i do hope there are some other persons who are willing to do a nice
contribution here...

be handdrawn. it's up to you what technique you choose to make your part...

of course, it would be cool, if you don't stray too far off the general style that
has been used up to now. but, otherwise, some style contrast within the image
might do well and make it more interesting....

my image hosting compresses it if its png file cuz its over 250kb. :( so it becomes really small.

for this project should be uploaded as png-files. jpg-files often have a distinct
quality loss, so we prefer png. but no big deal, as somebody else, who had posted
before you did, already put up a jpg. just keep it in mind ;)

I thought that a landscape with some action and stuff in it could be nice, but once again it could turn out to be everything!

In order to keep the image clean, save it always in .png format. This way it won't lose details or be raped by .jpg conversion.

How do guys use the textures for the ground? How do you do that, cause its really cool. :blink:

Edit: I also think the textures on the lower slopes of the mountains looks like regurgitated cow cud. Maybe somebody can get an aerial photo of some nice evergreen forests so we can use that instead.

I don't, I find a nice texture and import it in photoshop, then I erase away the parts I don't need. I also use a bit of layer work... which is difficult to explain if you've never used photoshop or paint shop pro.
