Of course disk images (.ima) can also be provided.
I'll add the Three Card Sandi Card Combinations (copy protection answers)

This time I offer:

all ok except for Elvira:

Sold at Adventuresoft

Ermuli 03-04-2009 06:29 PM

You mean Elvira's Horror Pack?
Quote:

Only Elvira's Horror Pack presents all three classic games, remastered and recoded to work on Windows 95 or 98.
Mine is the original DOS version. Are scans for protected games also no go?

Luchsen 04-04-2009 09:39 AM

No! Scans are gladly accepted for protected games as well. :kosta:

Paco 04-04-2009 12:13 PM

That is right, but its a policy not to put a Game without downloads on Site.

Ermuli 04-04-2009 01:07 PM

I offered only the scans for Elvira.

Is the original DOS version for sale somewhere (as new)? If I remember correctly, there have been other games accepted on the basis that the sold versions were for a newer operating system.

Paco 04-04-2009 01:13 PM

but do you see Elvira on AB? no? then we have to wait until the Game is not more protected and then we can put it with Review, Screenshots and your Scans of course on site.

Until then your Scans will have to wait on FTP until that Time comes.

Ermuli 04-04-2009 01:54 PM

No, I don't see Elvira here, but I see many protected games which have reviews and boxshots; they have a "no go!" tag.

I didn't get an answer to my question: Are all versions of Elvira protected or just that Horror Pack where the game is (apparently) modified to work in Windows?

Yeah, because they are "already" on Site long time Ago. We have now a Policy of no adding Game without Downloads. You can ask the Admins about that.

Most of these games have been on site before the ESA stepped in (2nd half of 2005 IIRC) and we had to remove the download links. At that time it was deceided to leave the reviews, extras, etc. on site, as the reviewers had put lots of work into them.

Luchsen 04-04-2009 06:12 PM

The box shown at the Adventure Soft Store contains the Windows and the DOS versions (it's written bottom right on the front). But the description on the site states that the games only work under Windows 95 or 98. So I can't definitively say if the DOS versions are sold, but the Windows versions are the same gamewise, aren't they? That would be a "no".

Luchsen 13-04-2009 12:55 PM

I would say that you don't have to wait for approval for floppy images (and the scans are approved anyway). It's great to have images, even if there are a few protected games which would have to wait, and you can't upload one we already have, because we have no floppy images at all (the only one I can think of is BC's Quest for Tires).

Ermuli 19-04-2009 03:55 PM

Today's special offer for ISO Cellar:

TotalAnarchy 25-04-2009 08:32 AM

Sorry, Ermuli. It seems most of the updaters have gone into some sort of vacation. The forums are very empty and I don't know why. :(

-The Improv Presents: Don't Quit Your Day Job [APPROVED] for IsoCellar. Sold only at Amazon Marketplace (doesn't count)
-Dominus, which is also available on site, is [APPROVED] for IsoCellar.

Send me the links and I'll create the respective threads in the ISO Cellar. Thank you for the contributions. :)

TotalAnarchy 12-07-2009 04:05 PM

Hi, Ermuli. I was looking in the FTP and saw both the Murder! and Murders in Space games. I want to review both games sometime in the future, but I don't want to start from the second title in the Murders series. So I was wondering if you also have the first game, "Murders in Venice".

Ermuli 12-07-2009 05:40 PM

I do have that game, but I never tested it. I'll upload
two versions I got.

TotalAnarchy 12-07-2009 05:47 PM

Ok. Thank you. :)

marko river 13-07-2009 08:35 AM

I also have working version, but Ermuli's probably good too. Never understood how to play that game...

Ermuli 29-07-2009 10:33 AM

Uploaded box & 3.5" disk scans for Sink or Swim. Both disks are unreadable. :(

Luchsen 29-07-2009 10:47 AM

That's sad. :( (Not the scans, of course. :) )

Ermuli 31-07-2009 07:30 AM

The Complete Warhammer Collection

Just bought The Complete Warhammer Collection for 4 euros. It includes:

-Chaos Gate (1998)
-Final Liberation (1997)
-Rites of War (1999)
-Shadow of the Horned Rat (1996)

Which ones would be accepted for ISO Cellar?

Luchsen 31-07-2009 11:24 AM

4€?! You have to tell me your sources! :D

Shadow of the Horned Rat is in the process of being reviewed, so it is clearly approved.

Chaos Gate is not protected anymore since the beginning of 2009, and thus was approved.

Final Liberation became approved when we discounted Amazon Marketplace.

Rites of War would be protected till 2010 if we count SSI as ESA subsidiary. As I see, we have never done that. It's a special case because Ubisoft owns SSI, but SSI is not active. Will have to talk about it.

Luchsen 31-07-2009 04:09 PM

SSI is now on our list of ESA members. But we can look into the status of Rites of War again at the beginning of the next year. :)

Ermuli 31-07-2009 04:39 PM

OK. I'll upload the approved games within a few days or so.

That 4 euros included shipping, the game is jewel box only.

Ermuli 04-08-2009 06:44 PM

Ecco the Dolphin

Is Ecco the Dolphin still sold/protected? I could offer a link for ISO Cellar.

Luchsen 04-08-2009 07:06 PM

Since it's from SEGA it's protected till 2011. :(

The only backdoor could be that only SEGA of America is a member of the ESA, but I doubt that we would push our luck that far.

[edit] Nope, nothing to do, they are involved in the publishing. [/edit]
