Review and Download (if available) |
I've played this game several years ago, and I enjoyed it so much. It's the first game I played without a "walkthrough". A fair game. Original. It's surprising that only two people built it, and I'm curious about them.
But I'm surprised at the low rating it got! The public gave it "2" and the editor only "3". Why?! It deserves much more! |
hi was just wondering if you knew where to find a walkthrough for escape from delirium as keep getting stuck.
|
YAHOOOOOOOOAH!!!!
I`d never thought to find this game any where! but now.. ........ great game !!!! i love it! play it! absoluter geheimtipp! greets from nürnberg - germany. PS: does ELVIRA - jaws of cerberus already exist on pc? got the original on my amiga but cant find it on pc. only the elvira package, but that too expensive 4 me. shipping from england to germany isnt the way i want. ! ;-( and i am not a pro in things like emulate or something. too bad. D:A:D. bad crazyness  |
I love this game ! :OK:
|
I agree, this game should have gotten a much higher rating for sure. The graphics aren't bad, the humour is witty and i love the 'subtle' similarities between certain lucasfilm games. Spelling mistakes are funny but it definitely requires brain power. I definitely have to commend these two gentlemen on a job well done ;). |
Best thing i found about this game were the 5 sliding bars.
So much usefull info on such a small part off the screen, perfectionism. |
Not a bad game, but not very good though.
I realy liked the appearance of the Grand Amiral Thrawn ! |
When im don download this game it dont want do work  ,can you help me??
|
If you actually explain what you are using; Windows (what version), Linux, VDM Sound or DOSBox or whatever, and actually explain what the problem is. Sure.

Uhm... 90% of the games on this site?
Eeeh... Minesweeper and Solitaire? You have them on XP. |
Or Castle of the Winds, it's a Windows-game, too. But not downloadable here.
|
When I downloaded this game a while back I thought - hey, could be fun, bit of a Monkey Island clone but hey! Why not give it a go! Then I played it through to the end to see if it improved with time and it didn't!
You won't like me for saying this but I honestly thought that this game sucked quite badly!! I personally did not like the graphics - it just looked like they were poorly ripped from Monkey Island 2! I mean - just look at the way the main character stands - exactly like Guybrush does! In fact he's is almost Guybrush's stunt double but with significantly less charisma!! You can do better than this for a freeware graphic adventure. |
I fairly enjoyed the game although the numerous dead people lying around everywhere disturbed me a lot... until I came to the end which I found highly unsatisfactory.
And what I disliked most was that there was no chance to set the chicken in the plane free right at the beginning of the game. Well, I guess that the programmers of this game are Bavarians - what could you expect! :whistling: |
Umm, is the music consantly playing through the game? Because I get a clip ocassionally, but nothing more. I have DOSBOX and WindowsXP. :sos:
Please tell me if you need more info. Thanx! |
I have problems with the graphics, the similarities with Monkey Island, the was number of dead bodies lying around and the weak story as well. However, what really made this game a stinker was the extremelly poor dialogue. It was like a child had written the script.

r.u.s.s., I think he just meant that he disliked the graphics

Didn't really care much for it. The humor is way too self-referential and the interface (especially the inventory) annoying to use. It's impressive for an indie project, I guess, but overall not a very good game, in my opinion.
Also, if you're able to read german, do yourself a huge favor and switch to that language in the setup, because the english translation can get pretty bad, even confusing at times. |
and for heaven's sake, don't mount a: as your hard-disc's root or anything and run bootdisc.bat.
|
As this is freeware, I think they in the end did not have trouble for the obvious plagarism of Monkey Island.
What is really disturbing though, that there seem not to be a story, and the puzzles can be solved only by random chance (if at all), not because they are logical. |
There is hardly any plagiarism involved with this game. While the interface is the same style the story is nothing like any of the Monkey Island games. Other games have taken the interface from Lucas Arts games and used it...though this does have to be the one that looks most like a Lucas Arts game.
|
The plagarism is in the jokes, not in the story what is certainly unique (but I miss a comprehensive storyline).
EDIT: Actually, the story is plagarism too. It is exactly like Monkey Island 2. |
...I don't remember any jokes in this game.
|
How could it be anything like Monkey Island 2...does it involve Pirates, searching for a map to Big Whoop a Zombie Pirate perhaps? Having similar elements to another story is not plagiarism all stories are based on similar elements stealing the exact same story directly is plagiarism.
|
From a glance, the main character reminds me of Guybrush Threepwood from Monkey Island II, but that could just be me.
|
Having actually played the game, if anything it vaguely reminded me of the Lucas Arts Indiana jones series. Operative word here is "vaguely."
It's a stand alone game, just not an amazingly good one. But seeing as it's being compared to some of the greats it had a hell of a lot to live up to. I liked it well enough :) |

I can see what you mean Oak, the standing face on pose looks very similar.

This game is Monkey Island 2 in an investigator-costume, with nonsensical puzzles and some crazy gore. The only moment I liked was the Maniac Mansion reference (the nuclear swimmingpool). |

I'd finally got off my duff to play this game. I found a walkthrough on the internet and started playing. I had to have my dosbox cycles to 10000 in order for the game not to crash. I finished it and it wasn't bad. I wonder since it was a shareware game how much was the price for the full game?
