Dungeon Keeper [GoG]

Is Dungeon keeper small enough to put it on the site??

So YEs...plz as soon as possible because it`s still a great game :P

Eagle of Fire 25-09-2004 04:37 PM

I agree, Dungeon Keep is a great game. Not sure it's Abadonware tough.

FreeFreddy 25-09-2004 04:46 PM

I have Dungeon Keeper + Deeper Dungeon (Addon + level editor). It's around 235 MB large, probably around 220 MB without the addon, therefore it's simply much too big for this site. :( Also I'm not entirely sure if it's abandonware...

wormpaul 27-09-2004 07:34 AM

  Damm...

Why has great games be so big.... :not_ok:

Grundlegod 29-09-2004 11:04 PM

its not abandonware... they still sell it. my friend just bought it at bestbuy

Strange...

For such an old game...let`s make all the game`s older then 7 year just automaticly abandonware....

Unknown Hero 30-09-2004 07:04 AM

Nice try wormpaul ^_^ ;)

Ross 28-02-2005 04:34 AM

Hi, Does any one know where you can download a full palyable copy of Dungeon Keeper 1.

Eagle of Fire 28-02-2005 06:28 AM

Moved since this has absolutly nothing to do with troubleshooting.

Timpsi 28-02-2005 07:08 AM

E-CDrom is selling it bundled with Magic Carpet 2 for $7. Chips&Bits has Dungeon Keeper 1&2 for $15.

FreeFreddy 28-02-2005 10:52 AM

And HOTU has full, but ripped (without sound) version of Dungeon Keeper Gold: http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=5103

Lizard 28-02-2005 12:07 PM

Actually I know it is :ot: but what is actually HOTU? Warez,Oldwarez or abadonware site  ?I saw there games for download that are being sold even in Slovakia...

Omuletzu 28-02-2005 12:17 PM

If i remember correctly, Blackthorne is sold on the blizzard oficial site, so where does that leave us ?!

Dreadlord 28-02-2005 06:53 PM

LOL, the GBA version or the PC one?

HOTU is a abandonware site, although only for under-rated games or such. Even though it's database is massive, it strictly enforces blah, blah, blah...

Lizard 28-02-2005 07:52 PM

Yeah.Understood

Dreadlord 28-02-2005 07:53 PM

I don't understand.

Lizard 28-02-2005 08:05 PM

 You dont?Well then probably I also dont understand.
But back to topic. If I ever was there...

dr. no 12-06-2005 06:06 PM

Tell me guys why can't we have dungeon keeper a lot of people wants this game

Sino 12-06-2005 06:48 PM

Simple copyright basics: ESA says no, we cant go.

Tom Henrik 12-06-2005 09:34 PM

It's even simpler.

Still sold.

Dungeon Keeper [2012]

Sorry for the hijack, Kamiko, but I figured it'd be redundant to post a thread with the exact same title, so...

I'm looking for a game that I never actually played, only saw played once. If memory serves, it was a typical fantasy-setting Strategy type game. The only two things that stand out in my memory now is the way you got units for your army (You combined captured monsters into newer, more powerful creations) and the fact that You, as some heavily armored warlord from hell could come down onto the field of battle to help your minions win the day. I know it's not much to go on, but it's all I've got. I don't know if it was early Windows-ware, or DOS. If anyone can offer any help, I'll shower them with cookies and other sweet treats.

It's easier for the moderators and admins when you create an own topic.

OK my guess is Dungeon Keeper.

moonlite 19-04-2007 11:58 PM

Dungeon Keeper was also the first thing that came to mind here.

If you can also remember slapping monsters, imps digging tunnels, and maybe even the 3D first person (in-monster) view, it definitely is.

It also matches the dos/windows timeline.

It's a true gem, but due to it's filesize (it came on a CD) probably not suited for abandonia?

Sorry, due to the mistake I can just give you a B+. :bleh: :ok:

bobson 26-04-2007 07:36 PM

It's not suitable for abandonia because its protected ... and the sequel is still sold - we need to wait!

deVily 26-04-2007 11:24 PM

But there is also the Dominus...There you can combine captured monsters and gain ultra brutal, pumped up, incredible intelligent, mega monster... :brain:

And you can also land on the battlefield, with some kind of flying chariots, and kill all those damn pigs (yeah, I've loved that pigs :-))

arkanis 28-04-2007 10:21 AM

There is a remake in the making and it seems to be progressing quite well.

Dave 28-04-2007 01:12 PM

You should try dungeoun keeper 2, it's still sold but is cheap...it's like the first one but much better!
Trust me :ok:

The Fifth Horseman 30-04-2007 07:57 AM

Okies, here's how things are.
Dungeon Keeper was made by Bullfrog in 1997, which means it is subject to 10-year protection period.
Wikipedia specifies that to be the month of July, which is confirmed by multiple other sources.

Therefore, Dungeon Keeper will become Abandonware (and thus eligible for addition to Abandonia) in August, just three months from now.

Reminder to self: make a Horned Reaper emoticon for the forum. :butcher: Make that several.

Dave 14-07-2007 08:45 AM

People...start to do reviews and screenshoots NOW!
This will be one of the greatest upload to the site :brain:
Only one month....

_r.u.s.s. 14-07-2007 11:56 AM

wasnt dungeon keeper like on one whole cd? maybe it would be more suitting for iso cellar

Luchsen 14-07-2007 12:11 PM

Since when do we have monthly ESA periods?

Dungeon Keeper Gold can be shaped to around 75MB but if you don't shape Dungeon Keeper efficiently it is around 100MB.

Since we know the month of the game's release.

The protection period is exact - it's therefore only when we don't know the month that a game is classified as AW on January 1st of the next year. :brain:

[assuming]You[/assuming] changed the lower topic to "expires august" doest that mean we still won't know if they claim copyright on Dungeon Keeper and is they will sell heaps of left-over CDs?

The Fifth Horseman 16-07-2007 08:35 AM

Indeed, it was me who included the expiry date in the tag.
We have no way of predicting whether a company will re-release a game or not, but as far as I can tell it's not sold at the moment.

Luchsen 16-07-2007 05:21 PM

When I talked with Tom about exact protection periods for games with known release dates, he said that we shouldn't do that to not complicate the matter. But... that was shortly after the successful negotiations on the ESA incident, so... forget my question. ^_^

Dave 16-07-2007 10:07 PM

Is there someone who own this jewel and wants to upload it on August? :whistling:
Thanks :)

_r.u.s.s. 17-07-2007 12:47 PM

i found 338.47 MB big version, is that ok?

Dave 17-07-2007 03:55 PM

Great! It's ok for ISO cellar :ok:

Burger Meister 18-07-2007 01:39 AM

I've seen a dungeon keeper version compressed to 75mb. Lets look for that version rather than 300mb+

gregor 18-07-2007 10:39 AM

i belive i had a smaller version however i had problems running it (had win 98 then)...

_r.u.s.s. 18-07-2007 10:41 AM

i think we can add the smaller version to abandonia main download site and the full iso to the iso cellar=)
the 'uploading progress' (since mine is realy slow) is in 20% btw

Dave 18-07-2007 11:34 AM

Yes, it's a good idea to have a copy on main site, Dungeoun Keeper is a famous title and I'm sure it will increase Ab popularity, and I would like to see it on Iso cellar too...(Yeah, for us cool kids :sneaky: )

Ermuli 18-07-2007 12:24 PM

I found a Razor1911 version called Dungeon Keeper Final. It's 99 Mb compressed
and 160 Mb uncompressed. Just tried it with XPSP2 Finnish and had no problems.
Maybe the game speed was too high, dunno...

Dave 19-07-2007 05:54 PM

Is Razor1911 a famous cracker, isn't it?
...mmmhh... I dunno if we can upload material like that

Burger Meister 20-07-2007 12:08 AM

I don't see why? and if it's a problem seeing Razor1911 anywhere in the upload... remove the nfo and any other reference to their name.

The Fifth Horseman 20-07-2007 09:46 AM

Razor 1911 is no small fry in trainer-making too :P.

_r.u.s.s. 21-07-2007 09:16 PM

dkeeper.rar 39,2 MB (41 129 178 bytes) \o/

JJXB 21-07-2007 09:58 PM

I managed to get my cd image down to around 300mb with the tracks compressed to MP3 so i'd upload it in the cellar when the time comes that it's abandonware :)

Dave 22-07-2007 10:31 AM

Great! russ copy on main site and JJXB one on cellar!
Thank you guys, only 9 days left :)

Dave 01-08-2007 12:19 PM

Damn...now I'm the saddest man in the world:
Still sold here:
http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-Arts-7887...0823&sr=8-2

The Fifth Horseman 01-08-2007 01:09 PM

dwong5657 appears to be an individual seller selling an unused second-hand copy.

Comet Max has a 7% negative feedback, mainly for not delivering goods already paid for and ignoring customers queries on the subject (most of those customers did not receive the merchandise nor a refund).
At least three known cases where the seller did not have the merchanise in question, despite listing it as available.
Several cases of sending goods that were incorrect (a different product was ordered), damaged or otherwise different from advertised.

Therefore, I have serious concerns whether that company can be considered a dependable source for purchase of this game.

Dave 01-08-2007 02:07 PM

We really want it on site, am I wrong? LOL

Well, you convinced me.

_r.u.s.s. 01-08-2007 02:07 PM

so i shall upload it?

edit: i wanted to ask, vendors in all the countries count right? in that case there are plenty of little older games selling in boxes in slovakia. dungenon keepr is one of them http://www.progamingshop.sk/dungeon-...ld-p-7739.html
and also, i have found this polish site and im not sure since i cant read it but it seems they are selling it http://gry.wp.pl/core.html?filtr=0,0&x=gra,25,1609,1695

The Fifth Horseman 01-08-2007 02:53 PM

The Polish site doesn't sell the game.

_r.u.s.s. 01-08-2007 02:58 PM

aand the answer iiis

The Fifth Horseman 01-08-2007 03:27 PM

You know it - Sold

_r.u.s.s. 01-08-2007 03:32 PM

well, here david mentioned in shoutbox later that dungeon keeper gold isnt same as dungeon keeper, does this work this way?
edit: nvm i think, on the site it reads "the package dungeon keeper gold contains game dungeon keeper and datadisc the deeper dungeons"

_r.u.s.s. 03-08-2007 04:50 PM

so, i have mailed the retailer and he said that they have a last one in stock. but about their vendor he was being a moron and said that he is not telling anything, but "person needs to be good to find it" and some wink after wards

The Fifth Horseman 06-08-2007 11:53 AM

Last one?

:D

_r.u.s.s. 06-08-2007 11:54 AM

you live in poland dont you, thats not that far :P

Dave 06-08-2007 07:50 PM

Ok, that's the plan...
Fifth...wear your military suit, take a big molotov, and.... LOL

Falls 06-08-2007 08:45 PM

Sooo... if someone buys the last copy, than those that have it will upload it? I can't do it since I am in Canada, but I was just wondering.

_r.u.s.s. 06-08-2007 09:44 PM

well, we already have the games and they are ready for upload (both ripped and full iso), we just need any random person to buy the game

JJXB 07-08-2007 09:31 PM

the iso is sitting on my hd right now waiting to be uploaded. 11 part rar (10 19.5mb parts and 1 1.91mb part) with ai patch and all of the cd audio compressed as mp3's, a batch file to decompress the tracks to wav and a corresponding cue file. tested as fully working as well.

_r.u.s.s. 05-09-2008 01:08 PM

sold out, review it somebody!

Dave 05-09-2008 01:21 PM

ahem...sorry.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...5970823&sr=8-2

_r.u.s.s. 05-09-2008 01:27 PM

damn when did it pop up? it was sold

we need to discuss this amazon once again, even any eastern countries can't buy it
and now any dude who has an unopened copy of the game comes on amazon and puts it up

Dave 05-09-2008 01:28 PM

You're right...we are still waiting Kosta's decision on the matter.

arete 25-11-2008 06:13 AM

Surely we can contact Kosta? Somehow? I'll review this, no problem :D

*image of spaceship kidnapping Kosta while he's asleep and transporting him to the AB secret headquarters*

The Fifth Horseman 25-11-2008 08:36 AM

I've nagged him about it a couple times before, but I can't force him to decide. He's too busy with more important things at the moment.

arete 14-05-2009 12:47 PM

*Ahem* Approved?

Paco 14-05-2009 12:51 PM

@arete forget it! DK is protected until 2012.

arete 14-05-2009 01:25 PM

I thought the protection ended in 2007?

EDIT: Thanks for the explanation. ^_^

yeah, that was their error. They overlooked that the Game is published by EA which had 15 Years of Protection and Bullfrog only has a 10-Year Protection, so they though it will end at 2007, but that is not the Case.

twillight 03-06-2010 05:15 PM

Dungeon Keeper

This game was a once a wonder with so many hidden things, I'd even buy a functional printer for it.

It was released in 1997, and wasn't too hugh for abandonia to handle. The rights owners also long ago closed doors.

I hope abandonia will consider uploading a fully functional copy of this unique game - because being evil is good!

Paco 03-06-2010 05:20 PM

you should search first if the Thread already exist or not.
