Is Dungeon keeper small enough to put it on the site??

I agree, Dungeon Keep is a great game. Not sure it's Abadonware tough.

I have Dungeon Keeper + Deeper Dungeon (Addon + level editor). It's around 235 MB large, probably around 220 MB without the addon, therefore it's simply much too big for this site. :( Also I'm not entirely sure if it's abandonware...

Hi, Does any one know where you can download a full palyable copy of Dungeon Keeper 1.

Moved since this has absolutly nothing to do with troubleshooting.

E-CDrom is selling it bundled with Magic Carpet 2 for $7. Chips&Bits has Dungeon Keeper 1&2 for $15.

HOTU is a abandonware site, although only for under-rated games or such. Even though it's database is massive, it strictly enforces blah, blah, blah...

Sorry for the hijack, Kamiko, but I figured it'd be redundant to post a thread with the exact same title, so...

I'm looking for a game that I never actually played, only saw played once. If memory serves, it was a typical fantasy-setting Strategy type game. The only two things that stand out in my memory now is the way you got units for your army (You combined captured monsters into newer, more powerful creations) and the fact that You, as some heavily armored warlord from hell could come down onto the field of battle to help your minions win the day. I know it's not much to go on, but it's all I've got. I don't know if it was early Windows-ware, or DOS. If anyone can offer any help, I'll shower them with cookies and other sweet treats.

Dungeon Keeper was also the first thing that came to mind here.

If you can also remember slapping monsters, imps digging tunnels, and maybe even the 3D first person (in-monster) view, it definitely is.

It also matches the dos/windows timeline.

It's a true gem, but due to it's filesize (it came on a CD) probably not suited for abandonia?

It's not suitable for abandonia because its protected ... and the sequel is still sold - we need to wait!

But there is also the Dominus...There you can combine captured monsters and gain ultra brutal,pumped up, incredible intelligent, mega monster... :brain:

And you can also land on the battlefield, with some kind of flying chariots, and kill all those damn pigs (yeah, I've loved that pigs :-))

There is a remake in the making and it seems to be progressing quite well.

You should try dungeoun keeper 2, it's still sold but is cheap...it's like the first one but much better!

Okies, here's how things are.
Dungeon Keeper was made by Bullfrog in 1997, which means it is subject to 10-year protection period.
Wikipedia specifies that to be the month of July, which is confirmed by multiple other sources.

Therefore, Dungeon Keeper will become Abandonware (and thus eligible for addition to Abandonia) in August, just three months from now.

Dungeon Keeper Gold can be shaped to around 75MB but if you don't shape Dungeon Keeper efficiently it is around 100MB.

Indeed, it was me who included the expiry date in the tag.
We have no way of predicting whether a company will re-release a game or not, but as far as I can tell it's not sold at the moment.

When I talked with Tom about exact protection periods for games with known release dates, he said that we shouldn't do that to not complicate the matter. But... that was shortly after the successful negotiations on the ESA incident, so... forget my question. ^_^

I've seen a dungeon keeper version compressed to 75mb. Lets look for that version rather than 300mb+

i belive i had a smaller version however i had problems running it (had win 98 then)...

i think we can add the smaller version to abandonia main download site and the full iso to the iso cellar=)
the 'uploading progress' (since mine is realy slow) is in 20% btw

Yes, it's a good idea to have a copy on main site, Dungeoun Keeper is a famous title and I'm sure it will increase Ab popularity, and I would like to see it on Iso cellar too...(Yeah, for us cool kids :sneaky: )

I found a Razor1911 version called Dungeon Keeper Final. It's 99 Mb compressed
and 160 Mb uncompressed. Just tried it with XPSP2 Finnish and had no problems.
Maybe the game speed was too high, dunno...

Is Razor1911 a famous cracker, isn't it?

Comet Max has a 7% negative feedback, mainly for not delivering goods already paid for and ignoring customers queries on the subject (most of those customers did not receive the merchandise nor a refund).
At least three known cases where the seller did not have the merchanise in question, despite listing it as available.
Several cases of sending goods that were incorrect (a different product was ordered), damaged or otherwise different from advertised.

Therefore, I have serious concerns whether that company can be considered a dependable source for purchase of this game.

edit: nvm i think, on the site it reads "the package dungeon keeper gold contains game dungeon keeper and datadisc the deeper dungeons"

so, i have mailed the retailer and he said that they have a last one in stock. but about their vendor he was being a moron and said that he is not telling anything, but "person needs to be good to find it" and some wink after wards

well, we already have the games and they are ready for upload (both ripped and full iso), we just need any random person to buy the game

the iso is sitting on my hd right now waiting to be uploaded. 11 part rar (10 19.5mb parts and 1 1.91mb part) with ai patch and all of the cd audio compressed as mp3's, a batch file to decompress the tracks to wav and a corresponding cue file. tested as fully working as well.

yeah, that was their error. They overlooked that the Game is published by EA which had 15 Years of Protection and Bullfrog only has a 10-Year Protection, so they though it will end at 2007, but that is not the Case.

This game was a once a wonder with so many hidden things, I'd even buy a functional printer for it.

It was released in 1997, and wasn't too hugh for abandonia to handle. The rights owners also long ago closed doors.

I hope abandonia will consider uploading a fully functional copy of this unique game - because being evil is good!
