Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one, available in bargain bins near you. Be absolutely sure not to get the second PotC game). Free roaming RPG/sailing game. Rather poor unmodded, but with Build 12.1 the best pirate game around.

The other one is its sequal, Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales, which is completely horrible (and I mean: seriously. Unplayable. Plus, it comes with StarForce, so you're forced to get a crack having purchased it legally :tai: ) and hasn't been satisfactory modded yet. In the future it might go beyond PotC, but I wouldn't take my chances as things stand, if I were you :P

No, not yet; The cartoony graphics and viewpoint detered me so far.

Nah, I prefer everything sorted. There are only two folders on the desktop (mine and Rainwife's) and there's a fast click icon to all the programs I commonly use. There are many things there...

And as for seeing the picture... since the screen on my monitor is one of the fist things you'll notice when you walk into our place it actually does have an aesthetic value (beside the functional one).

Heh, Japonfran, you have no idea how much crap is on my desktop, it's not user friendly :)

Well I guess I fell into the trap of confusing the "uncluttered" and "nake" terms. So my other point would be that you can have many icons and still it's not cluttered. Anyway cluttered desktops are the result of countless automatic installations, there are people who just don't want to bother with their computers like we geeks, and that's understandable. That's what God made user accounts for, so the people you share your computer with don't drive you nuts. :P

This is my desktop picture. It was originaly blue, but I modified it by inversing the colors.

I use it centered, and not stretched. That way the image end up at about half the lower talon and I don't see the writting on the bottom. If I were to remove my task bar, I'd probably see most of the bottom talon. :)

Animated pictures for desktop take much more CPU usage and memory than normal pictures, though. Screensaver uses CPU only when you need it, animated wallpaper always.

I've had some random crashes with older games (games for win95/98) but so far all games I have tried are playable with 7. Also, some games that didn't work with Vista are running fine with Windows 7 on the same hardware :thumbs:.

An update on my desktop, I added a 19" LCD so now its dual monitor time ;). Too bad it wasn't another 22" though, but they're about the same height, just not as wide. I wasn't too hot on dual monitors before, I found support in Windows just wasn't up to par in my opinion.. However I picked up Ultramon and now I'm pretty happy. :thumbs:

Having been trying for awhile to get the Bar inside the building on my home made deskptop, I asked a friend to help me. This is the result, I really like what she did with my idea.

you might notice that I'm not a friend of a ton of icons. One of the reasons I stick with XP are the useful button bars there (they removed them in crap 7)

#1 I used it for years and friends even mocked me about it because I used it that long. But I love it. Now on 1920x1080 it unfortunally looks a bit bad (compared to 1024x768). It's a screenshot I took from the ST: DS9 Episode "Penumbra". you can also see the button bars there. note: I reinstalled my pc yesterday so there's not much in these folders as yet. (sorry _r.u.s.s. no p0rn for u :lol:)

Got them all on rotation (on of the more interesting crap 7 features adapted to XP) so they can be considered as my actual desktop. (there are some more but these are the ones I like at most)

Well I really like dark wallpapers sometimes, they can add a nice mood. I like my desktop to look clean more than anything.

Well I was thinking more about it burning in the bottom if one is shot there with salt loaded into the gun. Used mostly for unwelcome visitors, doesn't hurt much but is very unpleasant you can imagine.
