I went to a computer fair yesterday (HCC-Dagen) and appart from a new USB2.0 card I bought a new keyboard. A logitech Ultra X keyboard. This is a special type of keyboard that has laptop style keys but it is designed for a desktop computer and is only slightly (but significantly) smaller then a normal keyboard. It types nicer and smother then other desktop keyboards.

It took me all day just to find someone who sold it as I think logitech no longer makes them (it's not on their website anymore).

if the above image does not work here is a link to the website I got the picture from.

Wow, it looks nice. :ok:
Is it a wireless keyboard?

The Niles 14-11-2004 11:41 AM

no it's PS/2. I thought it would be USB but it's a normal PS/2 connector.

I think the best keyboard would be the illuminatoiun keyboads

Nice! Where can I get one of those and how much do they cost?

I don't know were you can buy it at a store.

Puffin 14-11-2004 04:28 PM

Oh, it's similar to mom's keyboard. Hers is Hewlet Packard. It's really cool, and comfortable...

:ok:

FreeFreddy 14-11-2004 04:31 PM

Heh, I like them. Especially the illuminating ones...

Sebatianos 14-11-2004 04:42 PM

Nice, but I'm perfectly happy with mine:

Shambler 14-11-2004 06:37 PM

So far, I like Picard's best.

I'm using a laptop, so my keyboard isn't really all that interesting.

Puffin 15-11-2004 09:19 AM

I use mainly laptop...
But right now I'm using school computer with a DISGUSTING keyboard... it's filthy!! OJBARA!!!!!

It's like.... dust EVERYWHERE... BLACK dust..... and..... eeeew :eeeeeh:

I prefer the more handy and comfortable keyboards than the fancy good looking but useless keyboards.

Iron_Scarecrow 15-11-2004 09:39 AM

I can't help but notice that you're all getting excited over keyboards. They just keyboards get over it.

Well, keyboards are quite important, can you imagine living without it? ;)

Iron_Scarecrow 15-11-2004 09:56 AM

Yes I can. But the thing is they just a keyboard, who cares.

wormpaul 15-11-2004 09:58 AM

A Keybord is for a PC like a hand for a human...

You never talked about "your hand" with other humans???

Iron_Scarecrow 15-11-2004 10:07 AM

Exactly.

Eagle of Fire 15-11-2004 10:12 AM

I don't change my hands often, so I don't talk about them. However if it was possible you can bet it would be another stupid conversation point to pass over along with the weather and the like... :sneaky:

auhsor 15-11-2004 11:37 AM

Hehe

Bah, I got a standard keyboard with no special features. It cost around $5AU, so I can't complain. I wouldn't mind one of those glowing ones. Perfect for playing games in the dark and trying to find the right keys. I have had lots of trouble trying to do that with this keyboard.

If you spend as much time on the computer as I do, then you would also prefer comfort over good fancy looking. Mostly I am using laptop (Dell Inspiron 8500) end this keyboard is great, with nice hand rest areas. At home I’m using also dell’s quiet key keyboard. Nothing fancy, but it serves the purpose, and at the night I don’t have any wrist pain.

Sebatianos 15-11-2004 02:40 PM

He he he
I started typing on an 78 year old tiping machine (it's 102 year old now), so trust me - all the keyboards are comfortable.
And about finding the keys - just learn where they are. Yiu'll makr lwss mistajea thaz eay! :bleh:

Rogue 15-11-2004 02:53 PM

Knowing where the keys are does not help if you drunk, now, does it? LOL LOL LOL

Puffin 15-11-2004 03:03 PM

In my old school, we learnt how to type on some huge, old typing machines...
They were aweful. Always breaking down.....

I do. As you might imagine I have to spend a great deal of time typing on a computer both for this site and professionally. This often means I spend hours pressing keys and with the wrong kind of keyboard that means I develop delibetating pains in my hands. My new keyboard has a very light stroke. With that I am able to type longer and smoother (once I am comfortable with the new position of the keys).

Of course I prefer ease of use over looks but with this keyboard I can have both.

Omuletzu 15-11-2004 03:27 PM

freaky... :smoke: :pimp:
