I'm starting to get back into the country music now, so I was wondering if anybody on here liked it? Currently i'm listening to the following artists:

Johnny Cash
Chris Cummings
Collin Raye
George Canyon

aaberg 31-10-2004 02:04 PM

Personly, I hate it! No offence :D

Fluxy 31-10-2004 02:08 PM

Then you havn't heard George Canyon my friend. I personally don't like it THAT much myself, but Johnny Cash and George Canyon are impossible to hate.

Country Music... The downfall of humanity! Kill the heretic!!!! :Titan:

Maerlyn 16-11-2004 11:02 PM

Johnny Cash, i have respect for what he was, and what he did.

Country music just isnt my thing...i need a little more thought put into the music i listen too.

Rogue 16-11-2004 11:40 PM

I like country music, especially Tool, Korn... :w00t: :bleh: :tomato:

I HATE IT!!! It sucks.

Only my opinion...

Actualy.. there is something i hate more then country... HIPHOP.. That's the true plauge of the world..
Only leading to criminality..
It's the attitude in the music that bothers me.. not the music itself.

Eagle of Fire 17-11-2004 05:13 AM

Well while we are at it, I can't stand rap either...

The words of the ignorant.

Whilst im not a huge fan of rap music, i atleast did a little research before being critical - you obviously havent or you misunderstood the information presented to you.

???
How can music convince you to do something that you know is not right?

That's just a sterotype someone made up (Gangsta' rap is not the only HIPHOP there is - ever hear of people like Jovanotti? - a dediceate social critic and pacifist - he's an Italian rapper BTW - for those who don't know).
If you don't like HIPHOP ok, everybody has a personal taset, but if you looked at it objectivly - you'd find quality in some of the works.
Never generalize - that's the most common way of doing injustice to someone/thing!!!

Squalidangel 17-11-2004 07:18 AM

Unfortunately, To generalize is automatic for most people. :not_ok:

To agree with others, there is some good rap and I actually like listening to rap when its done well out there but there is an awful lot of terrible rap and most of what we hear day-to-day is the bad stuff and I do hate that!

My message to those rappers is - "if you need to swear every other word, then you haven't really got anything to say so f***ing go away and come back when you've written some decent f***ing lyrics!!!"

Sorry!

Glad I've got that off my chest!

With the talk about the rap and hip-hop we are a bit :ot:

But I like just to comment this:

This sound to me very familiar, as a lot of people said the same for the games like Grand Theft Auto.

Is the Korn country bend? LOL

Have tp disagree.
But then again - it depends what you understand under the word country - RAY CHARLES' biggest hits (Georga on my mind, Can't stop loving you,...) were considered country

Yamcha 17-11-2004 03:28 PM

I'm talking about american Country I just can't stand it :not_ok:

wormpaul 17-11-2004 03:43 PM

Nope...doesnt love country at all.. :not_ok:

mouse31e 17-11-2004 03:49 PM

There is a lot of country music that I don't like but there is some fantastic country music out there. Like the rap we were discussing earlier, the hard bit is finding the good stuff among all the rubbish. :D

Kent Paynter 17-11-2004 04:02 PM

Rogue 17-11-2004 04:03 PM

Proper, pure Country is music is that bad - I'll agree. But a lot of modern artists have country influences - Gretchen Wilson, Ryan Adams and Counting Crows, all of whom I think are fantastic.

On the subject of Ray Charles. Though he was not a country artist he played some country and it sounded good.

Sebatianos 17-11-2004 04:38 PM

Well those you mentioned are awsome...
Don't forget every music art is developing, one such revolution came with Ray Charles (before people were yodling while singing country - here's an eyample)!
