The gameplay oddly resembles a game I recently got on my cellphone.

Stupid little fly-y things. So annoying. They just bounce around until you start making your territory...

Reup 25-04-2006 11:22 AM

:D It's nice, but I think it's difficult. Enjoyable little game though.

I prefer the 18+ versions you can find for MAME :Titan:

wormpaul 25-04-2006 02:31 PM

1 time in my life completed the whole game without saving!!

Still gives me some good time with the game because it looks great and the gameplay is still brilliant...

Wish there were more games like this

I guess you meant more games as good as this one, but there are zillions of versions of this very game. Red Avatar mentioned an adult version (called Panic Gals or something like that I think), and there are even versions for mobile phones as 'Horseman said.

... adult versions for mobile phones, I might add. :bleh:

They used to have this game around back when I was still in school.

Awesome to see it back.

Kearnsy 26-04-2006 11:04 AM

I prefer a different version called "GOTCHA!". Its the same idea but the thing in the middle is the strange wave looking thing from some screen savers (called mystify).
The movement was more random but less annoying.

It also had a... thing, that came after you if you spend to long on the side. (If only I had the full version! :wall: )

Something I remember about this game (may or may not have been the same version): you'd finish the level before last - 17 or 18 or thereabouts - and it'd tell you that the final level could only be played on Medium or Hard, and boot you back to the menu.

So, sure, went from Easy to Medium and fought my way through the game again (with considerably more effort) - only to get the same message, Medium or Hard, when I *was* playing on Medium.

Never did bother trying Hard after that.

Reup 10-05-2006 05:41 PM

I've replaced some of the screenshots, since they were all from level 1 and 2 and I finally get beyond that myself :D :tomato:

Still find it a hard game though... but I at least reached level 12 at easy... that's got to count for something

Well it took me years to get to lvl 13 :D

Hi:

This is one of my favorite games from back when I was a kid hanging out in the bars, wasting my time and money on arcade games. Does anyone know what the PC keyboard commands are to play this game Volfied?

Thanks

guesst 06-07-2006 05:50 PM

I recently found the arcade version of it. Danged game won't let you continue so when you die you start over. I've only been able to get to level 6 once, usually 5 is my cap.

Gonna have to see if the DOS version is better.

.:EDIT:. Wow. I'm going to have to write a community review for Volfied vs Volfied. This is one of the few times where the home version, dispite the short commings inherent to home versions, may very well best it's predicessor.

This game looks quite cool, have to give it a try. It's not the oldest game of it's kind though. I remember playing a game called Styx, made by Windmill software in 1983. Lousy CGA graphics, PC speaker, 5 1/4 floppies, no hard disk. Ah, the memories. ^_^

Hey, I just noticed Styx is also featured on Abandonia : linklinklink :kosta:

I think it should appear on the similar games list, no ?

I actually have the game too.
however, I get the protection of seal or whatever that unables me to go on the next level unless I enter it in correctly.
I'm actualy frustrated by the fact that I paid for the game yet I only get the codes for grid C&D meaning that if it wants me to enter the code for any of grid A&B I have to restart the game.
does anyone even have grid A&B? -.-

anyways here's a photo of grid C&D, I hope it's visable enough to help you.

tips&tricks : I think the reason why you guys got the message
"sorry! but you cannot play round 16 you must start from round 1 and be on normal or hard level"
is because you used the continue, if you do not use the continue then you will be able to play round 16.
also, don't count on that continue in round 16 because if you lose, it's game over.
also it's not worth it either because the only thing there is in round 16 is a look-a-like-frankenstein-head hard boss like level 12 (the one that spams loads of eyes going all over your area screen) + 5 mini thingy's that spwan out of him and get destroyed with time which he just summons again.
and the ending is the same as easy mode, although you do get to put your name on top of the high scores because level 16 gives you a very big bonus for completing the whole game.
but who really cares that your name is above someone who put "nic"
but atleast it's not like the highscores of pipe mania which is filled with all the names of the people responsible for the game.
so my guess is that "nic" is probadly the developer of the game

Bartje Remje 28-08-2009 02:18 AM

I have played it for years. Never got past level 12 or 13.
Last week I recorded a game. Didn't got very far (level 4).

Enjoy!

Level12 Fehler

English language please!

SysLord 13-09-2009 05:19 PM

Stupid me, didn't mind the language....
The level 12 enemies are broken, what can also be seen on the screenshot. Does everyone have this problem with this version?

Luchsen 13-09-2009 07:09 PM

Links for the YouTube videos would be helpful. Are you sure they were from the DOS version?

If you're looking for similar games, I wholeheartedly recommend Fortix 2 available on steam.
