Iron_Scarecrow 22-10-2004 01:45 PM

Ok here is the first drawing I have drawn for about 6 or 7 years. I think it's a really good effort. I couldn't draw the outline of the face it was too hard. :wall: But I think it looks cool the way it is.
And I don't really like The Scarecrows left hand ( the one with the palm facing us). But I couldn't really be bothered trying to fix it.

The first in a two part series of The Scarecrow. Hopefully there will be more to come.

Iron_Scarecrow 22-10-2004 01:52 PM

The second in the two part series of The Scarecrow. I really like his feet. And once again I'm not too happy with his hands, both this time. The thing I liked about this one is that when I drew the face from side on it gave it a scared/worried look, which goes pretty well with the story.
I hope the stories are readable since I reduced the size.

*EDIT*: If anyone has trouble reading the writing just give me a warning and I'll post it word for word.

Iron_Scarecrow 22-10-2004 01:57 PM

Here's the third and final for now. It deffinently needs more detail considering it invovles some landscape. If I get round to adding more detail I'll post it.

Tom Henrik 22-10-2004 02:32 PM

I really don't think the last picture needs more detailing.

The atmosphere in the pic jumps out of the page the way it is!
WELL DONE!

As for the hands. Try to draw only hands on a whole page. That way you get more practise in it. At one point you will be pleased with the looks of them. But sofar so good :max:

Red Diablo 22-10-2004 02:37 PM

You seem to be unsure if the drawings are good or not, if it eases your mind I think they're really good.
You seem to know what you need to work on to make them even better, so keep going!

:ok:

Iron_Scarecrow 22-10-2004 02:44 PM

Thanks for the tip Tom :ok:
And thankyou both for the positive replies. :ok:
I think I would still like to update the background in the last drawing. At least give the mountaisn some more detail, just as a kind of test thing, but I will take my time on it.

Iron_Scarecrow 23-10-2004 02:25 PM

Alright I finished my flower. Went over the whole thing. Got a blister doing all that shading, now I don't think it was really worth it. I call it "The Loneliness of a Flower".

Sean 23-10-2004 05:06 PM

Very nice work,
However i don't think the final drawing is as good as it was before you added to it.

Iron_Scarecrow 23-10-2004 05:11 PM

Thankyou. But I think once would have been enough.

Sean 23-10-2004 05:27 PM

Was a browser error sorry.

WORM! Look like Bookworm from an old show I used to watch. But I like to call him Paul.

Martin 24-10-2004 11:34 AM

Indeed fancy.

That's ok wormpaul, I was thinking about you when I drew it. ;)

Martin 24-10-2004 11:59 AM

Love is in the air...

Iron_Scarecrow 24-10-2004 12:06 PM

My friend just said the ripples in the page around the second worm makes it look like it has energy. Too much energy to contain and can't help but just throw it all out and effect everyone around him.

Paul you have energy. :ok: Positive energy that is.

Iron_Scarecrow 24-10-2004 01:01 PM

LOL LOL No problem. Always glad to make someone feel special.

Iron_Scarecrow 25-10-2004 01:10 PM

Love grid paper. Waste a lot of time in maths. :D

Kon-Tiki 25-10-2004 02:37 PM

Hehe, grid paper... drew a full frame with a shuriken-pattern during class last year, framing the paper.

Anyways, I like that worm in particular. Looks great, yet so simple :w00t:

Iron_Scarecrow 26-10-2004 10:56 AM

I have used half of maths books drawing faces, patterns, flowers, anything I can think of. Now I can't help but wonder why I am only just passing maths. :D

Thanks. I like drawing simple drawings. They don't take long and they look very cute and interesting. Don't get me wrong I like Voids, Toms, and everyone else's very deatailed drawings I just prefer simple ones without too much detail.

Iron_Scarecrow 28-10-2004 01:16 PM

Here's some stupid drawing of some stupid looking.......thing.

Sean 28-10-2004 01:48 PM

One Word...

WEIRD

FreeFreddy 28-10-2004 05:50 PM

Abstract...

TheVoid 28-10-2004 06:23 PM

You know. You should just stop being that lazy and start a bigger project. I'm sure that would be good at the end.

wormpaul 28-10-2004 06:52 PM

Indeed...try to make something really beautiful...

You got the talent for it...maybe make something with a worm in it??

Iron_Scarecrow 29-10-2004 05:30 AM

If I do a big "project" I'll just get frustrated. And I don't handle that very well. But I'll try.

Iron_Scarecrow 29-10-2004 02:01 PM

I can't do it. The last one I added was going to be a detailed snake strangling a mouse or rodent of some kind, but I ended up with that. And now it happened again, I got really frustrated, ripped the piece of paper apart, and now I'm not feeling very happy. I just can't do it. I'm giving up the whole idea of drawing.

wormpaul 31-10-2004 07:02 AM

Come on..

Give it another try...when it`s done you can be really proud at yourself

Iron_Scarecrow 31-10-2004 08:05 AM

Well I may give it another go. But if I do it would probably take quite some time. I'm not saying I will try again, it depends if I really feel like trying again or not.

wormpaul 31-10-2004 01:52 PM

Ok...we will wait for it

Iron_Scarecrow 01-11-2004 10:14 AM

Once again I give up. No point waiting. No point trying to get me to change my mind. It's all over. There will be no drawing, I'm not even going to try. I don't care what you say.

Iron_Scarecrow 04-11-2004 11:18 AM

Despite what I said I couldn't help trying again. And this is what I ended up with, not very detailed but it's an improvement.

Tom Henrik 04-11-2004 01:38 PM

Great work.

No doubt you have your own unique style!

Keep it up.

Iron_Scarecrow 06-11-2004 03:52 AM

Thanks. :ok:
I'm working on something else which is more realistic. I hope I don't stuff it up.

That went down the drain.

But is this counted as Pixel Art?

wendymaree 28-11-2004 07:32 AM

These are terrific! Simple, yet everything has a dynamic look and feel. Your work is so unique to you, which turns any artwork into something special. The hands are very real, and the worm is ultra cute. Glad wormpaul has adopted him. :ok:

But is this counted as Pixel Art?

What is that? :eeeeeh:

Wael 28-11-2004 10:05 AM

Eyes and and one ear (I think)
But itīs nice in any case

Iron_Scarecrow 28-11-2004 10:59 AM

Yeah, one and a half eyes, one ear. The top left corner of a face I drew. Then I scanned it into photoshop, used magic wand, transferred it to a blank page which was too small to fit the whole thing so I left it like that, then coloured everything black which left the lines white. But then I had to recolour a whole bunch of pixels.

Does that count as pixel art. Or is pixel art only considered pixel art if you do the whole thing in pixels yourself, from the start?

Iron_Scarecrow 28-11-2004 12:13 PM

I was messing around with that picture in Photoshop.

Blurred.

Iron_Scarecrow 28-11-2004 12:14 PM

Smudged.

Iron_Scarecrow 28-11-2004 12:16 PM

You answered yourself. :)
Else, any pic done with pc could be classified as "pixel art".

Iron_Scarecrow 29-11-2004 05:24 AM

So the only reason it isn't pixel art is because it was originally a drawing.

I'm attempting some kind of pixel art, but I don't know how good it will be.

TheVoid 29-11-2004 02:51 PM

I'm sorry because I probably made a mistake. I meant

Otherwise, any pic done with pc could be classified as "pixel art".

Pixel art is something you make pixel per pixel....something done with photoshop, for example, can't be classified as P.A.

Iron_Scarecrow 30-11-2004 05:36 AM

Ahhh I see. What if I used paint?

FreeFreddy 30-11-2004 07:01 AM

Pixel by pixel ;)

TheVoid 30-11-2004 12:59 PM

Paint is ok. I always use it. But remember there're some rules for it to be called exactly "pixel art". Check the Pixel Art topic to find out

 How exciting. :not_ok:

Tom Henrik 17-12-2004 11:47 AM

Reminds me of a mushroom I once drew. ;)
Looking good.

FreeFreddy 17-12-2004 12:56 PM

bohor 17-12-2004 02:37 PM

TheVoid 17-12-2004 05:31 PM

Eagle of Fire 17-12-2004 09:23 PM

Very nice mushroom! :ok:

Fawfulhasfury 17-12-2004 10:33 PM

Can you draw a marell???

Iron_Scarecrow 17-12-2004 10:55 PM

What's a marell?

Anyway it's bigger than my orginal drawing. When I cropped the sides it increased to the same size, as when it had the extra sides.

But it reminds of Tintin when they went to that small island and the spiders started hatching out of the giant mushrooms.

Fawfulhasfury 17-12-2004 11:01 PM

It is a type of mushroom. Try google images to see a picture of one.

Iron_Scarecrow 17-12-2004 11:09 PM

Alright. :ok:

Iron_Scarecrow 17-12-2004 11:32 PM

You want me to draw this.

http://asm.wku.edu/pix/fungi/morel.jpg

LOL LOL

Good luck.

Fawfulhasfury 17-12-2004 11:34 PM

Yes, I do. Marells are delicious by the way. Especially fried. MMM MMMM :D

Iron_Scarecrow 17-12-2004 11:40 PM

By the way they are spelt Morel. Took me a while to figure that out.

But anyway I don't think I have a hope of drawing that. I'll just stick to normal mushrooms. :ok:

Fawfulhasfury 17-12-2004 11:41 PM

OK, I.R.S. :bleh: You draw your normal mushrooms. :D

Iron_Scarecrow 12-03-2005 09:15 AM

Well today I got some sudden urge to do a drawing, dont know where it came from, don't know why it's been so long since my last one. But this is what became of it.

EDIT I couldn't be bothered cropping it.

troop18546 12-03-2005 12:26 PM

bohor 12-03-2005 01:48 PM

Strobe 12-03-2005 02:40 PM

soo, somebody has reactivated his art thread...! cool picture!!

the little guy looks familiar, somehow...

EDIT

is he being caught or has he been dropped by the hand?

he seems to fall diagonally....strange gravity!

j/k :D

troop18546 12-03-2005 02:43 PM

I think its Bomberman.

Iron_Scarecrow 12-03-2005 02:49 PM

Yes it is Bomberman. I drew it as him being dropped. And that's just the angle the picture was drawn at, don't know why.

taikara 12-03-2005 02:53 PM

Kawaiii!

I want one! :D

Great job, Iron_Scarecrow!

Iron_Scarecrow 12-03-2005 02:59 PM

Kawaiii?

And thanks to everyone.

Was that Willo the Wisp, with the inimitable Kenneth Williams, by any chance? I have all of those on DVD - once sat in my room in first year with my then-flatmate and my friend Kat and watched every single one while smoking a large quantity of weed, until everyone fell asleep. That was an amazing evening!

I quite like the second version of the mountains on the first page btw; it's kinda abstract, like it's not a mountain at all but a piece of flint that's really close to the observer so it looks like a mountain.

Iron_Scarecrow 12-03-2005 11:53 PM

Actually I thought it looked like the worm from a childrens show called the book shop, but now I don't think it looks like him anymore. So we'll stick with yours. :ok:

I suppose I'll say thanks for your view on the mountains.

Ok I've got this picture working. I'm just not sure about the colour of the text, I'm open for any ideas, is anyone wants to share any.

Nyerguds 13-03-2005 11:50 AM

man... you can draw hands. I envy you :P

Iron_Scarecrow 01-04-2005 01:38 AM

I was just kind of lucky with that hand.

Anyway I had a Chemistry test earlier today, and since I know nothing I had an hour and a half of spare time in a 2 hour test. So I drew this.

Dreadlord 01-04-2005 01:46 AM

It's beautiful, :D .

The shell is really well done.

Keep it up.

Iron_Scarecrow 01-04-2005 02:07 AM

Thanks. :D

I just wish I knew more about chemistry.

DeathDude 01-04-2005 02:10 AM

That's a nice sketch you got there, good stuff.

Bah chemistry, where's that really going to take you, unless your planning on being a scientist or something. I loathed my high school chem classes, blancing equations, memorizing and such,

Iron_Scarecrow 01-04-2005 02:35 AM

Well the thing is I do 6 subjects, for my HSC they take the 5 subjects with the highest marks. I'm doing good enough in 4 of my subjects but Chemistry and History I am doing very bad in, and I need to perform in one of them to get a good HSC but I don't want to work in either of them cause I was forced to do them both. I'm in a bit of a pickle.

wendymaree 02-04-2005 05:36 AM

A tortoise-shell dragon - nice twist, interesting creature. I wonder what it says about your state of mind at the time...other than this is my thing, chemistry isn't... Very good sense of shape and great lines, I thought.

Iron_Scarecrow 02-04-2005 05:49 AM

Yes I deffinently wasn't completely myself at the time. The lead I was using was very very brittle, I'd say it was about 3B so it came out dark and easy but it also smudged very easily and it got very messy.

Iron_Scarecrow 08-04-2005 12:02 PM

Well I had a 3 hour math test earlier today and I had an hour and a half to spare or something like that. And I got a little creative. Nothing special though.

EDIT It is a 7 if you couldn't tell, none of my friends could I think they are blind.

Indie 08-04-2005 12:04 PM

Niiiiiiiiiice. That one is really cute^_^

(How'd the test go? :P)

Iron_Scarecrow 08-04-2005 12:07 PM

If you think that is cute you should check the Turgon on the previous page.

The test was horible, I'll probably get about 30%. Math is too hard, I can't stand the damn subject.

Indie 08-04-2005 12:14 PM

haha.. Awesome. I wish I had some of your skills and imagination :P

Oh well.. I don't like math either :\ *shrug*

FreeFreddy 08-04-2005 12:36 PM

Heh, who does...
No wonder you worked in and around on it, free time after a test, especially a math test. :D

Iron_Scarecrow 08-04-2005 01:00 PM

Well it was my last test as well so I now have holidays for 2 weeks. YAY :Brain:

I'm going to brisbane for 1 week leaving tomorrow. So I won't be posting for a week.

I do - I'm doing a degree in it in fact. I'm not too bad at chemistry either - really enjoyed my GCSE, but A-level was unpleasantly hard, too much rote learning.

I like the way the 7 is threatening to find the derivative of us. I reckon I'm a discontinuous kind of a guy, so my derivative isn't well-defined. Not so big now, are we Mr 7?

TaloN 08-04-2005 05:07 PM

me = failing maths As level, chemistry As level = piss easy

Iron_Scarecrow 11-05-2005 06:02 AM

And another simple sketch from me, I know you were all dieing of anticipation for this, so you can die no more now.

Strobe 11-05-2005 08:58 AM

the last one is cool!
it somehow reminds me slightly of bernard from day of the tentacle.:)

Iron_Scarecrow 11-05-2005 11:03 AM

what the hell is your avatar, now?

Iron_Scarecrow 22-05-2005 02:46 PM

Iron_Scarecrow 27-07-2005 12:24 PM

Thankyou.

Iron_Scarecrow 09-11-2005 11:06 AM

Well it's been a while.......

yes.

Sean 09-11-2005 03:39 PM

It's really cool but a little square if you ask me :)

swiss 09-11-2005 06:22 PM

don't ask him

I like it so very much that I really consider to ask you to upload a larger version that can be digitally retouched a bit ...

Iron_Scarecrow 09-11-2005 08:51 PM

A bigger one?

1248 by 1650 big enough for you?

Danny252 09-11-2005 08:52 PM

Big enough for me!

Sean 09-11-2005 09:10 PM

Mines bigger.

Brag.

The clock is very sweet, tho..better and more elaborate than your previous works I think.

Quintopotere 10-11-2005 07:43 AM

Uhmmm... a living clock, a classic!

Nice drawing, but I'm sure you can do better the ear of the guy... :tomato: ... I know, sometime I am a bit pernickety...

Anyway, :ok: (I would like to use two thumbs up, but my right hand is occpied in holding the mouse...)

Iron_Scarecrow 17-11-2005 01:42 PM

So i'm wondering which is better.

Iron_Scarecrow 17-11-2005 01:44 PM

Or this. And I was concentrating more on the guys hair than his ear.

Oh they're both too tall.

Oh now it's too short. I give up.

Now it just looks retarded.

Useless crap.

I'll just stick with this although it needs to be fixed, alot, I want to rewrite that. But I don't really want to.

Sean 17-11-2005 02:57 PM

I prefer the non negative one. :)

Quintopotere 17-11-2005 06:05 PM

Uhmmm... let me think... perhaps i like more the negative version...

Iron_Scarecrow 18-11-2005 01:24 AM

Well I prefer the negative one. And this should be good enough for now.

Iron_Scarecrow 21-11-2005 10:00 AM

I figured if I'm going to stick with this avatar all the time I should have a matching sig. Don't think I'll be changing them for a long time. Except maybe the text in the sig.

bohor 21-11-2005 10:08 AM

nice one! What's the simbolism behind that all the time?

Quintopotere 21-11-2005 11:25 AM

I prefer the precedent sig... that's because i don't like the avatar repeated in the sig, but probably it's just my problem :tomato:

uh..... It sounds cool, and I like to say it.

Anyway the previous sig was too dull, nice and simple but colours are too dull. And I'd actually prefer to have the same thing in avatar and sig.

Iron_Scarecrow 21-11-2005 01:37 PM

I'm wondering if this avatar is better than my previous one. I prefer with the border, I should have put it in a long time ago.

I think he meant the doodles...

Iron_Scarecrow 26-11-2005 03:55 PM

What doodle's do you refer of?

Anyway to prove to Eva that my family is not useless I post up my families coat of arms.

It got a little bumped around over the past 600 years.

Eva02Soul 26-11-2005 03:57 PM

Oh, wow. I am truly amazed. How can an arm holding a severed leg possibly compare to what looks like the aftermath of somebody sneezing into a palette?

Iron_Scarecrow 26-11-2005 04:00 PM

It doesn't compare because mine is ultimately better.

Eva02Soul 26-11-2005 04:07 PM

Yeah? yeah? well as it happens my family just this second unveiled a long-lost coat of arms. Here it is:

This image has been removed for being considered by a few wussies as obscene. You don't need to know what it depicted, just be content in knowing that it involved a finger and words that rhymed with 'duck stew'

Iron_Scarecrow 26-11-2005 04:08 PM

 Well I never...

PM it to me please :sneaky:

Quintopotere 26-11-2005 06:33 PM

I just don't understand that discussion...

win98 26-11-2005 06:53 PM

Over all you get a 8 out of 10 for drawing from me nd I am not generous.

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 02:37 AM

Thankyou Win.

And it's a pretty simple discussion, Eva offended me and mine family.

Eva02Soul 27-11-2005 03:01 AM

sure, make me out as the bad guy. *hides all the weapons*

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 03:18 AM

Well you did steal all of my possesions.

Eva02Soul 27-11-2005 03:40 AM

correction: I rid you of your material burdens

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 03:57 AM

Oh well that makes me feel so much better, thankyou for ridding me of such trash.

Eva02Soul 27-11-2005 04:03 AM

No problem :Tom:

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 04:17 AM

Sorry you don't drink, it's all mine. MINE. :tai:

JimmyJ 27-11-2005 05:03 AM

I beg to differ, some of its mine, see, we drink it together

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 05:07 AM

Thief, don't touch mine beer. :tai:

Eva02Soul 27-11-2005 06:47 AM

i'll take your beer, but i'll just put it into a time-capsule for 20 years to see what will happen.

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 06:51 AM

I suppose after 20 years it will come out again, as beer.

Eva02Soul 27-11-2005 07:08 AM

not just any beer.Flat beer.

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 07:50 AM

Ah well there's only one good thing to do with flat beer. And that's... SKITTLEBROW. I've actually had that once, disgusting.

Bobbin Threadbare 27-11-2005 09:13 AM

Perhaps this seems a bit random, but... What exactly is the thing on your av/sig meant to be?

Iron_Scarecrow 27-11-2005 09:54 AM

Go to page 8 of this thread, second post down.

It's a face never forget that, but what kind of face is completely up to you, personally I think of it as a Fox, don't know why that's just the first thing I think about when I see it.

The current text "Nought But Illusions", is my personal view of magic. Cause it is nought but illusions.

Iron_Scarecrow 05-12-2005 04:34 AM

Two things up for Eva, I know they've been in other threads but meh.

Iron_Scarecrow 05-12-2005 04:36 AM

You must enter a message to post!

Iron_Scarecrow 05-12-2005 05:12 AM

Well this is something I been working on for the past hour in paint, I don't know how Midget gets things done in 10 minutes.

Sean 05-12-2005 03:48 PM

It's nice. The texture looks very complex and is easy to distinguish. Midget is a paint master we must :kosta: him.

Iron_Scarecrow 06-12-2005 12:14 AM

Thanks. :D

This is the finished version. all up work time was probably 7 or 8 hours, but it took me over a day to complete.

I stole some of midget's colouring techniques that I saw in some of his "doodles". But I don't like the colour I used for the buildings except for the glass one, with those two mad cloud reflections.

EDIT Just realised it would have been more realistic to have those two front buildings reflected in the glass one.

Iron_Scarecrow 22-12-2005 11:41 PM

Ah, just some stupid little idea I got.

Sean 23-12-2005 01:38 PM

The pixel is great.. looks like a SimCity2000 style screenshot :P

The drawing is amusing but a little simple.

Show us soooome moresy!

Iron_Scarecrow 23-12-2005 03:40 PM

Well yeah the drawing only took about 1 minuute. I dont draw much so you have to be patient.

Iron_Scarecrow 09-04-2006 02:18 AM

Not sure what to say. Had no idea where I was going when I started and had no idea how I got to this when I finished. Yeah it might look a bit better with another arm but I really hated drawing those hand/feet. I'd say it's a bat.

Iron_Scarecrow 10-04-2006 01:06 PM

And what was meant to be a squirrel.

Blood-Pigggy 10-04-2006 08:56 PM

The tail is awesome.
Is a feather, it looks so soft, I want to touch it.

Quintopotere 11-04-2006 07:45 AM

Uhmmm... well, I really dislike the squirrel :not_ok: I'm sure you can do it better!

But I like the bat, expecially the "arm" particular ;)

Iron_Scarecrow 11-04-2006 12:46 PM

Thanks.

And yeah it's pretty far from a squirrel in any sense. The idea was to see how far I would end up from being given something to draw. I don't like the head but I'm not in any particular rush to draw a more realistic squirrel.

Iron_Scarecrow 23-05-2006 09:12 AM

I had CAD class today and had some time to kill, thought I'd show off my awesome CAD skills. :bleh:

Quintopotere 23-05-2006 11:12 AM

Well, that's funny... but I'm expecting from you at least something like that:

http://www.ceco.net/autocad-free-sym...igate1.dwg.gif

Iron_Scarecrow 23-05-2006 01:20 PM

I don't do boats. :bleh:

I don't have CAD here at home so I can't take screenies of my actual work. I don't have anything that deatailed yet, though I'm working on a house floor plan, got quite a bit done today.
