patryckslasher

I'll use this main post to put the situation of my help on the threads:

Games On Site:
[Cross Country Canada] Files, screenshots and review.

Games Approved:
[Constructor] Movies patch [ON FTP]
[Mall Mania] ISO Version, a multi-language installer, review and screenshots [ON FTP]
[Handkerchief] Secondary link and review in two languages
[Cadillacs and Dinosaurs - The Second Cataclysm] Helping with the game files
[X-MEN: Children of the Atom] Files, screenshots and review [ON FTP]

Offers:
ISO Cellar:
Prince of Persia Collection (Bought on Brazil, but disc makes reference to Red Orb Entertainment, I understand it is the US version)->ISO File, Box Shots (PT-BR), Manual and Game Protection codes (PT-BR)

Now continuing the thread...

Well, if it's certain it's going to the site, I could help with those.
Yes, it will be a very slow process ('cause I'm a one-man team), but it's better than nothing, right?
Just send what needs to be reviewed or to take screenshots, and let's boost the site with more new content! :OK::OK:
But anyways, someone (moderators/Admins) must insert the new content on the site, and there's the problem. :whops:
If you let me do it, I'll help around as I can.

Japo 19-10-2014 09:05 PM

When there's a will there must be a way :-)

Starting by the archives submitted in the server is the wrong approach because most times archives are easy to get even if we don't have them yet. It's best to choose games to review from the approved requests, and then we can try to find the archives.

http://www.abandonia.com/vbullet/showthread.php?t=30730

We need time to publish the content, but usually the biggest problem is putting it together in the first place. If someone already submitted all the content ready to be published it's possible that someone forgot to publish it or didn't find time yet, but if you poke me about such a game I will publish it within days or a couple of weeks tops.

Good to know it, I guess you'll find a lot of things posted by me around the next weeks, not right now because I can't even use my computer this week... I got some things to resolve and don't have time to sit and do this, but I'll surely help this site to be available with more content as I can.
I'll begin by threads I started, it's not much so it'll be quick. Then I'll go to the threads there, but there's something: should I begin by the recent approved or go to the WAY bottom of the list?
Anyways, I feel honored to help a site where I could get a lot of fun most of the time. :D

Japo 20-10-2014 07:46 PM

Nice, no worries, I can wait :OK:

It doesn't matter much in principle when the request was made (or even less last posted). Any approved game that's not yet on site is good. Also this way you're free to choose the ones you'd like best to play.

Eventually I'm going to move these posts to your own thread, we're hijacking Spectre's although it's for a good cause :-)

patryckslasher 22-10-2014 04:54 PM

I read the stickies and got confused...

I posted about Mall Mania, but I'm still waiting for it to be available on site, do you want me to post something proper to the template on the stickies? If yes, I'll wait for the FTP stuff, when you authorize me to use it. In the meanwhile, I'll work on looking around the site and post on threads about what I have (reviews will be posted on game-specific thread, screenshots will be let on my PC waiting approval)

Japo 22-10-2014 06:46 PM

Hi Patryck, please post on this thread about anything that you want to submit, instead of the game-specific or other threads. Now maybe make a summary of what you've already offered so I have a clearer picture...?

To actually submit the files, I can give you FTP access right away. I'm sending you the canned PM in a moment.

If we have review, screenshots and archive, I can publish it (within a few days, so I can find the free time).

Thanks! :-)

Great, I'll look on the forum for the games and I'll upload as I go looking and finding around... The summary is on the first post, and I'll post what I got and what I uploaded when I upload/get. :OK:

marko river 24-10-2014 05:55 PM

Sorry about Mall Mania. Real-life is killing me lately.

It's a good idea to maintain the summary, but feel free to bump this thread when there's new stuff ready. In case you do not get a response in a few days you can just go ahead and PM us.

I saw you had already posted elsewhere reviews or links to where we can copy them from you, so if you make screenshots we're good to go :-)

It's okay, in the meanwhile I'll post in FTP the screenshots and arrange my review to look a little better, with help on playing the game.

Good to know it, I'll post as I upload/update, but I'll actually PM if it takes more than a month to get some feedback, we know our lives aren't fully inserted here: some got family, some got work to take care, I'm lucky I have time to help the community, and that makes me feel even more happy.
I'll upload the screenshots when I get home and then we'll see what to do. :OK:

patryckslasher 26-10-2014 11:06 AM

Mall Mania: Review and screenshots already on FTP :OK:

Japo 27-10-2014 04:35 PM

Hi Patryck, I can see the review but the screenshots aren't in your folder...

Hmm... Strange, I'm reupping the files

Japo 28-10-2014 06:21 PM

Now I see it :-)
I'll take a look when I have more time, if no one beats me to it.

One other thing, please provide a 0-5 score, and a couple of related games already on Abandonia, if you know any. Thx!

Okay, already scored it. Unfortunately, there's no such game on Abandonia that is even remotely similar to this one:sucks: , the only game that *could* remember this one is Pickup Express, but it was rejected from entering this site...
Anyways, I'll continue looking for something to help us all.
NOTE: I've inserted a new part on my summary: Offers.
I'll post them as I look around, I just began doing backups of my discs (it's not much, but there are some interesting things) and while I look around, I'll tell what I can offer.
For now, I got this:
Quote:

Prince of Persia Collection (Bought on Brazil, but disc makes reference to Red Orb Entertainment, I understand it is the US version)->ISO File, Box Shots (PT-BR), Manual and Game Protection codes (PT-BR)

marko river 31-10-2014 09:44 AM

 Awesome!

The real question is should POP Collection be considered separate game or be attached to some game from collection?

By what I saw, it contains POP1&2, some demos on the disc, a video showing POP3D and game protection codes for Windows and Mac versions (wait, I forgot to check this :headslap: , I'll get home and see if I can run the MAC version!:sneakrete:), at least on the game's box it says PC & MAC (or something like that, but the back cover has parts in portuguese). I searched MobyGames and they have the shots with the symbols of Red Orb Entertainment, the one I have (despite the contents on CD shows it) has UbiSoft symbol.
If it can be approved, I'll upload 'em and put it on the ISO Cellar.

marko river 03-11-2014 08:08 PM

Boxscans are always accepted. I doubt game itself will be rejected since both first and second part are abandonware, and it is only a demo of newer game. But you can post in Requests to be sure. I think it should be considered as separate game since it is official release.

Japo 04-11-2014 06:49 PM

I have started a project that will occupy most of my free time until mid December, so I won't probably be able to help or publish much until then :-/

marko river 06-11-2014 01:19 PM

I'll handle it. I'm getting back to normal life or at least out of no-life, so should be able to do some uploads.

Wow, I don't know if I get worried or happy with your comment...
Anyways, I'll be out for a week so...
Nah, :shifty: I'll take some requests and I'll upload 'em when I get back.
Oh, and by the way, I'll upload Cross Country Canada, but only when I get home, since I'm without cellphone ( :whops: ) and at work I can't even finish uploading a file (it gets disconnected from the FTP when it tries to publish, good to know that I can do it in home!)...
So, I'll be back after a week.
:byesad:

patryckslasher 14-11-2014 02:38 PM

Cross Country Canada uploaded on FTP, only screenshots missing. I'll upload 'em at night.

patryckslasher 08-12-2014 05:24 AM

X-MEN: Children of the Atom - uploaded: Files, review and screenshots.
:OK:

Japo 20-12-2014 06:39 PM

Cross Country Canada published, the rest as soon as I have some more time :-)

Japo 27-01-2015 08:26 PM

We seem to have FTP problems, I can't get anything uploaded :-(

I had to keep trying for several days before I finally succeeded in uploading the last time I used the FTP site. :lame:

Cheers
Eddie

Same for me, times with upload are very confusing. After 3 or 4 files and you are dropped from the server, only to get back at some hours.
Anyways, I uploaded files a month ago, it still gets the files, I wonder how it is now...

patryckslasher 26-04-2015 01:47 PM

Patch for Constructor

Movies Patch for Constructor already upped into FTP, as promised. Sorry for taking so long :dislike:

patryckslasher 26-04-2015 02:01 PM

Ultisoft/Various

I got some games from Ultisoft (defunct since 2000) I gathered around and, even because most are slot machine simulators, there were some space shooters and such (there's even a Tetris variation of sorts), lemme see some names for the games:
3D Planet Attack
3D Asteroid Impact
A Chain Reaction
and so on, I don't remember the list out of my head.
Some of them are from Gamescape Studios
Somewhat they're hard to find, and my question is: They're really not sold anymore? If they're not, I can provide the files.

It's rather offer, Japo.

But I am still not sure how it is processed in Abandonia. Where to post "if my game can be uploaded" questions?

Right here :-)

The pre-requisite for an offer to go forward is for the request to be approved.

I just need to sort what is games and what is slot machines.
I did asked in one because of the publisher (Ultisoft) and its games, I saw that Piggyback.com began selling some again in 2002, with apps redesigned to fit their names and such, and RealNetworks had some too. Since they're all gone, I ask here to see if they can be uploaded. NOT THE SLOT MACHINES, the DOS games really.

Japo 30-04-2015 10:29 PM

OK; as this isn't an individual title request, I'll merge it into your offers thread. Feel free to start new threads for each request :-)

Okay, thanks. :OK:
To not look like I'm spamming, I'll post 5 requests of these per week.
It looks like I have ~20 games, I think...

Japo 20-03-2016 12:17 PM

Hi Patryck sorry your Constructor movies addon is indeed ok in our server queue. Hopefully someone will find the time to screen and upload it... Today I may not have time... Thanks for contributing and sorry again -_-U

arete 20-03-2016 04:07 PM

What we need here is some means of cloning Marko River :mhh:

marko river 21-03-2016 08:08 PM

What what what??? What is a movie addon?

Oh, it's okay, none of us have the time we want to. Even myself, I began working on game translations and got carried away from here for ~2 years, I guess...:mhh:
Anyways, things are going slower than I wished. :smile2:

Basically it's a file that, when extracted, gives you some cinematics that (in the case of Constructor, you can't play it fully without getting error screens when winning or losing the game) can be interesting on having along the game.
Now what thais does in Constructor? Remember that there's a small screen showing the System 3 logo right? If those files are extracted on the game's folder, it shows cinematics of the tenants, HQs, intros and outros, the You Lose cinematic, and some other stuff (like when you enter the Cement factory and turn it on, it shows the machinery animation, or when you are refurnishing some house, for example)
I thought it should be a nice addition to those who can't/don't want to mount ISOs on DOSBox, and want to to have a clean installation without the trouble of mounting/installing.

marko river 23-03-2016 02:42 PM

Ah I see. So it can be added with a note that it will make some troubles?

Smiling Spectre 23-03-2016 06:35 PM

It will resolve some troubles, no? :)

patryckslasher 23-03-2016 07:05 PM

Yes, you got it (wow, I never thought that it would go way out from what I wanna mean XD)

Actually, when you play without the FMV files, every time you win or lose, the game prompts you out of the game because you don't have a specific file, and that annoys me. So this extra file you can download (~200MB) adds those missing files so you can play it fully without problems, just like you should at the time when the CD were sold.
Sorry if the mesage before meant another thing.

Smiling Spectre 24-03-2016 10:19 AM

Oh, I am Russian, so I cannot judge how close was your reply. :)

But I have long years playing with "movies/sound addons" by different warez groups after they ripped it before, so I perfectly got what did you mean. :)
