Army Men [SOLD]

Bolth were developed by 3DO, which recently got bought out by some french company, and at least the first in each series is old, so I was wondering if they are considered abandonware or not, they are pretty good games, and I have the first army men, so I would be willing to do a review, if I could ever get it to run on my computer.

MadMarius 30-06-2005 07:05 PM

those are very good games and i have armymen2 wich runs on my computer very well...but Might and Magic saz.CRC error 200. :wall: ...curse my fast machine ways..but i want that game!!!I want it!I want it!I want it! :ranting:

troop18546 30-06-2005 07:06 PM

If they are abw then O.K. I myself would want to play these games.
Maybe even Heroes I and II?

moogle 01-07-2005 12:26 AM

Ya heroes would be good also, I think I;'ve seen thoose on underdogs, not sure.

The Fifth Horseman 01-07-2005 07:23 AM

IIRC, 3DO--->ESA

Swiebertje13 01-07-2005 02:06 PM

AFAIK 3do doesn't exist anymore....question is who holds the rights now then...

The Fifth Horseman 01-07-2005 02:27 PM

Some company has probably bought out what was left of 3DO.

Titan 01-07-2005 03:20 PM

Heroes of Might and Magic 5 is under developement, so SOMEONE holds the rights.. just can't remember who.

Tom Henrik 01-07-2005 04:20 PM

3DO went bankrupt in 2002, and their copyright was sold to several different companies. Who owns what, is hard to say.

Problem is, that it might not be the same company that holds rights to older HOM&M games.

xenphn 01-07-2005 06:18 PM

But you can download Heroes 1 from Abandonia.

World of Xeen, which is M&M 4 and 5 also.

They both work well with DosBox.

moogle 02-07-2005 12:55 AM

Even if it isn't DOS, it still is old, but anyway, its ESA protected so does't really matter.

I was planning to post the fact that the buylinks no longer sold the games, yet I was unsure with the [2014] tag. This reminds me, the game fell out of protection on [2009] if we are only considering the American release date as the only one we consider for protection. Ubi Soft only distributed the game in Germany, it seems. Therefore, the protection time has elapsed.

Cluseck 12-04-2013 12:27 PM

Sold only on Amazon Marketplace (also on the British and German ones.)

I think we can label the game as 'approved'. Can anyone confirm that?

Amazon.com has a valid buylink. Thus...
