[Smiling Spectre] CarVup
Hi. I'm looking for a game I've played in '90. As many details as I remember.
In this game You "drove" a car (red) and jumped on diffrent levels of "bars" the bars had "lights" on the side. While driving on the bar the "lights" went off and the points ware erned. http://download.admit.pl/gra.jpg |
I do believe that would be City Connection by Jaleco.

Thank you for answering. The game that I'm looking for was almost exact but it had more modern graphics, more eye candy.
|
I know this is an old thread, but I'm still searching for the game.
It was a ms-dos game 100% clone of the City Connection, but I can't find any game from that time or even for ms-dos. |
Island Connection is straight remake.
Original presumably was on PC too, but it seems it's straight _port_, and never was published outside of Japan on PC, it seems, If you want, you can buy it on ebay. If your game is something different... well, tell us that, and I'll try to search more. |
Thank you for reply and time!
The remake that I played was a lot more "eye candy" I had a 486dx2 8mb ram PC back then it was around 1995-1996. The 2 things I remember is that on the "splash screen" (when starting the game) there was a car going "through screen", the car was "round". The second is that the levels/beams ware red with round white lights. I tried to look trough different galleries of old games but I can't find anything like that game :( |
Is it looks like CarVup maybe? This one haven't PC release, but maybe something similar...
|
I think it was it or very very very similar :)
The only thing is that I'm 100% certain I played it on PC. I had a C64 for a short while and then a PC, i had bought used amiga years later (about 2000) and never had any atari. Could it be some kind of embanded emulator? |
Well, totally. WinUAE is free, and there is also Amiga Forever (with embedded WinUAE) that sold tuned-up disk with Amiga games+Emulator long years already. Try to install game under emulator (Old-games.com seems offers tuned-up version), and check if game is the same.

I'm aware of UAE and lots of diffrent emulators for diffrent platforms. Or could it be run by mame emulator at that time/hardware? |
Well, DOS-game can be the thing too. Actually, DOS-market (especially in it's lower, shareware-freeware-port part) is still somewhat terra incognita, just as Windows 3.1. You always can found gem that no one is aware of (aside several lucky persons who played it back in '92. :) Well, question is, are you happy with emulator, or intended to found DOS-version now? :)
|
Hello, I "accept emulator solution" :)
I played amiga version and it is that game I was looking for. Thank you! PS: I will search for dos version in the feature. PPS: I didn't compare amiga and atari version yet. |
I believe it would be unnecessary to write this, but good thing that Grandmaster Spectreman :kosta: is still an active user so that names of forgotten games in the timeline are still possible to be rediscovered! :OK:
