Unfortunatly that didn't help. I think this would be 386_slow. Still too fast at 6% and too slow at 1% :no:

set a fixed amound of cycles
set your cycleup/cycledown to a fixed amount so you feel you can regulate the game speed in smaller steps (something as 110/120)

FYI: dosbox comes with a well written manual, maybe take a look at it, it can help.

You can also change the game speed in the game's options menu.

Of course I know the DOSBox documentation, which is indeed very detailed, but maybe someone has experienced the same problem as me and solved it, that's what I was hoping for, nevertheless you provided some quite helpful information.
