My X-Com thread is different. First, it's X-Com :P Second, it's like writing a book, I control it all and I can write however I want and don't have to worry about skills or keeping track of other players or being extremely descriptive like in roleplaying ;) <!--QuoteBegin-Taikara Oh, and I like cheese. It's just good.[/quote]Here here! :D |
Okay, so here's some random facts:
- I'm a 25 year old white male - I study modern media and modern german literature - I'm a drunkard - I'm a pervert - I'm a cynical bastard - I'm elitist, meaning I consider myself and my opinions to be superior to most others' - I'm a communist nazi (depending on who you ask) - I'm a smartass - I don't even try to get along with people I don't care about (which would be most) Still wanna be my friend? :bleh: ;) |

Of course, conversely, it's my belief that people fundamentally suck that allows me to be so optimistic and forgiving when it comes to actually dealing with them... and even more conversely, it's my optimism and forgiving nature that causes me to want to avoid people like the plague because of how crushed I get due to the disappointment when someone lets me down... and round and round we go ^_^ |

I love porridge (always thought it was spelled porrage  ) and I am sooo paranoid that I even lock my flat-door 5 times when I am not at home (I have one of these superspecial ultrasafe doors). And I love the English language and Scotland! It was near Shiel Bridge where I got the best porridge ever. (she was an old lady and was so kind to make real porridge with salt and putting the stuff in water for a night ... she was so cute and nice ) Well literature is mostly stuff for my job but I really enjoy readin fantasy and thriller beletristic. Oh, did I mention that I am a female tutor in Edinburgh, just pretending to love ega-shooters ? :roflol: |

I could have named Kant, Huxley or Satre, but I do prefer some fiction to help me get through. I read a lot of Camus, since I always get strong feeling about his many insights, either agreeing or disagreeing. I do prefer Kafka though, Metamorphosis was one of the fastest books to read ever, I gulped it in as fast as I could, not stopping once until I finished it (It's a small one, but you get my point). I'd write about a purple midget butterfly, if it helped you in any way :tease: |

I like Kafka's ideas, but his writing style is just making me put his books as far away as possible. Same goes fro Proust. I'd recomend Saramago (have you read any of his work yet)? And as for the comments on the authors - well I guess some people dislike the absurd existential empyness of some writes, but I find it very relaxing. The old man in Plague spitting down on cats was just a so deep. Or the statement in The Stranger: "But I mustn't think like a free man anymore - I must start thinking like a convicted criminal..." (not a direct quote, but it's the thoughts with which he calms himself down when slightly uneasy about the thought of the execution) - that's just brilliant. |

My name's Alberto Manzardo, I'm 19 and live in a city called Vicenza, around 70 km from Venice, where I'll be studying Architecture the next 5 years of my life (I hope). I'm 1,75m and weigh 69 kg, my work as hotdog/hamburger/polenta cook at a local fair ended today and I like reading over gaming. Other interests of me are volleyball, darts, juggling and poker. I occasionally draw, and even more rarely write some stuff, mostly dialogues. My tastes in music are pretty wide, I used to focus on a single genre but I changed totally my attitude when I found out how much I was missing. My favourite music period is probably the 70s (Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Genesis, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, PFM, Pink Floyd, Yes, Van Der Graaf Generator, ELP, Deep Purple, Stooges and even Simon&Garfunkel). I like sincerity over everything, so @ReamusLQ:Can't you make a post that doesn't end in w00ting for yourself? and @Punch&ShunkEatEnemy would you please put some commas in your statements sometimes? I'm too tired to add more details, will later maybe. |
