So, what you are saying is that this was just a lucky shot by some geek with a computer?!

If you only have norton antivirus no it's more then a random lucky shot. trojans are stoppped by your firewall. If that one is also Norton then I can't explain it (unless the firewall has been down at times). Norton internet securities is one of the best packets you can buy even if it is heavy on your system resources.

Hmmm... Danny, yeah, that looks bad. Especially because of one of the log entries that say:
04.05.07 20:46 B G:\s722\skins\Weed_Skin.zip --> erbium.4ph.com /mnt/htdocs/users/kostak/kostak/abandonia.com/html/0035141261/Zupah Smurf/s722/plugins/skins Weed_Skin.zip

And the IP address from which this was uploaded to the server (obviously your G:\s722 directory) is the IP that erased the whole site... do you think its possible that someone connected through your computer did it? And besides, how the hell did he/she get the password for the FTP access??

Tom Henrik 08-05-2004 08:43 PM

I have the following

Norton Anti-virus 2003 (Gets updated whenever I receive a message saying that a new download is available).
Norton Personal Firewall 2003 (Same download procedure).
Spycleaner
MS Agent

All of these programs run when my computer is idle. So I thought my machine was secure. Obviously it was not... :?

The Niles 08-05-2004 08:50 PM

No security is perfect but since subseven is so common norton will detect is for sure. I think we can safely discount your computer as a possible source for this attack.

Yay!

Danny252 09-05-2004 11:44 AM

well i had been downloading something for a bit and had left my PC connected while downloading.. Then I came back, disconnected, went had some dinner and came back on to see this..
And for FTP acess... they just needed to get into my FTP program and wham they're in..

Danny252 09-05-2004 11:45 AM

And I don't use Norton, I use McAfee. I dunno how it got in here either..

LotharGR 09-05-2004 02:05 PM

I use McAffe viruscan 7.1 and Zonealarm ver. 4.5.53 ( i haven't updated that for a while ... ) Are they supposed to be good? I am not too much into anti-viruses and firewalls... i just know what job they do :P
